    Want to waste $50??? Believe the tag on the pants actually represents the size you ordered.I ordered 40 x 32. The pants I received had four size tags - the most prominent tag (a plastic adhesive strip) said 40 x 32, the second cardboard tag (clipped to the waistband with the size inside the waistband and not immediately visible) says 40 x 30, the third cardboard tag which contained the product description (clipped to the waistband and tucked inside the pants) says 40 x 32, and finally the permanent cloth tag inside the pants says 40 x 30. Don't believe me - see the photo! I checked the visible adhesive plastic tag when I received the order and then put the pants in a drawer until I needed them. I opened them yesterday (they were still in the plastic bag they were shipped in), and discovered the size error - the pants actually measure 30" in length and I need a 32". Now I am stuck with a pair of pants the does not fit and I am out $50! I am not complaining about the quality of the pants - I have four pair (which is why I did not need to wear these immediately). 1PERFECT!!!I got these for my husband's birthday, and he has never been so happy to receive clothes. He is your typical guy, jeans a shirt through something over your feet and go. With these pants though he walks taller, and with a lot more confidence. They are water repellant, and extremely durable. They have plenty of pockets for spare magazines, knifes, pens, handcuff keys, and the list goes on. The rear pockets are deep, which is a good thing because when he sits down to drive his wallet doesn't need to be removed for comfort. They fit exactly as we expected and the length was perfect. They are cut just right to fit over boots or to sit on top of shoes. The belt loops are thick and wide enough for their 2 inch belt. The loops are also perfect spaced to keep an OWB holster exactly where you want it. These pants are exactly what we were hoping for, and we will definitely be ordering more. I highly recommend these pants to anyone who likes to do anything outdoors, not just shoot guns. 5Wear daily indoors and out, and will wear nothing else now!!OK when you work at a police academy and teach firearms at an outdoor range in Florida, the pants you use have to be tough, and able to be both warm and cool. These fit that bill!I wear these daily as my training uniform, I put them through the ringer and they hold up great and are very well made and comfortable. I will not wear any other pants for work. I never have to iron them, they come out of the dry and hang to get a nice clean line in them. I have been wearing these for at least 10 years or more now. I only have to buy new ones every three years or so, and for pants to last 3 years with me is a accomplishment! As you can see in the photo, I put them through a bit of rough stuff now and then, yet they look just as good now as when I bought them.I highly recommend these pants for anyone looking for some good, nice looking, comfortable, rugged pants. With the right shirt these can even be rather dressy, but mine are used as part of my daily uniform for work. While I have had to buy shirts almost every year, these outlast my shirts.I like the added fabric at the bottom of the front pockets for knife clips. This keeps the pants pocket edges from fraying from the clips. Plenty of pockets for almost anything, the front left pocket is my spare magazine pocket, and the right front slit pocket is great for knifes, extra fabric in the knees and the crotch is cut to give free range of movement.If you want a really durable, well built, long lasting pant for range or work, these are the ones!UPDATE! 09/01/2018 - I bought these pants 3 tears ago, and I am still using them, and they are still completely good to go! Amazing for me as I wear them every day. I am getting ready to order a couple more since I have stained a couple of pair with oil from gun cleaning, and also from some really nasty mud, I was rolling around in. Even then, they held up well and stains would not have been a problem, but I let them sit instead of washing them. I still recommend them and will continue to wear them every day! 5BUTTON BROKEI bought these pants in July 2017. They are okay but the button broke this morning.I called 5.11 and spoke with Tina Roberts who advised that there is only a one year warranty (even though the website there is unlimited warranty for defects for as long as you own them.) but no warranty for Amazon purchases. I called Amazon and was only able to get a five dollar promotion credit. :( 1It s 5.11 Gear, Come On. Just Buy em.I started wearing these 24/7 about a year back and since then have gotten almost every appealing color in these. They re tough, semi-water resistant, abundant in pockets, and perfect for those who wear boots or hiking shoes. On top of that, they just look great (not like most tactical pants that are too big or odd looking). Outside of jeans, I see me wearing these and other 5.11 pants past my 20s; easily lmao. I m 5 11 @ 175lb. (athletic build), and these fit perfect with just the right amount of leg length to go over and sit on my boots and hiking shoes neatly even with my belt tight.Oh, DO NOT machine dry these. Please hang dry. I did just a short low-temp dry on my olive drab ones and they got way too soft and less resistant to moisture afterwards lol. Still great and didn t shrink, but they don t feel the same when softer... 5The pants feel like 5. 11 changed manufacturer and used a different ...Not the fit i expected. I've worn these pants for well over 5 years. The pants feel like 5.11 changed manufacturer and used a different material. Once received, I called 5.11 and was told 5.11 may have changed one of their manufacturing plants and used a different material. CS rep insisted the pants will soften and stretch over time with wear and machine washing/drying. After 2 months of following her advice, NO CHANGE!!! My 2nd followup call, the CS rep rudely stated "Since you're beyond the 30 day return policy, we can't do anything for you at this time, CLICK...In conclusion, I payed $200 for 4 pairs of pants (I've worn the same pants and size for years) that that i don't wear, I'm told to hold on to them because they'll get better. THEY DIDN'T get better. To make matters worse, waiting for the pants to "Get Better" actually pushed me over the return/exchange threshold. Extremely Disappointed with 5.11. BTW, within 15 years this is my first negative remark about 5.11 15.11 did a good job in cost-cutting...As far as workmanship quality, (double stitching and reinforced kneecaps), clearly it held the most rigorous jobs. Just a couple of things that made me give it only 3 stars, and I'm quite sure most (if not all) customers HERE would agree with me: 1.) 5.11 did a good job in cost-cutting, i.e., 5.11 made sure that they use the 'cheapest fabric' or 'textile' available anywhere; the fabric FADING IS QUITE NOTICEABLE IN-EACH-AND-EVERY-WASH, even with the most 'gentle' or 'mild' laundry soap used; e.g., the 'navy blue' quickly becomes 'light blue' and 'black' quickly becomes 'gray'--- all in under 12 months use; 2.) 5.11 had these pants hand-crafted overseas (Vietnam, etc.)-- for the 'cheapest labor' they could find anywhere in the world.Overall, these pants are made well. For the price 5.11 charges (ave. $70+ to $100+) a pair is just absolutely insane! --- This could be a high-paying job to American workers at these prices! 3Poor customer serviceI bought these pants and I loved them while they still had a snap button on them. Problem, after I wore them about three times, the snap button on the front of the pants fell apart. I Emailed 5.11 twice about the issue and I got no reply or answer. I asked if they could fix my pants or if they could supply a snap button, so I could fix them. No answer. I wasn t asking to return them, I would just like them fixed. I love 5.11 gear and work wear, but 1 star, if that for CUSTOMER SERVICE! 1Look cool, but not made to last...When you see the 511 brand, you are immersed in to how great a product it is and how much they care about creating clothing that will perfrom for those that have extra needs. After much shopping, it seemed 511 had the line on tactical pants. Here I am, 45 days in to a deployment and my pants are falling apart. The stiching is coming apart on the pockets and I've already lost an interior button. Want to know what the kicker is? I usually sit at a desk, carry a gun and sometimes have to travel and do some rough and tough stuff. So, for the most part, these pants are falling apart while I sit at my desk here in a war zone, hate to see if I was out on patrol or actually doing regular missions. Sorry 511, but you missed the mark on this one, it seems you're getting cheap with your manufacturing... 2Motorcycle Rider Road Rash ProtectionI low-sided (fell off) my motorcycle when it went into a skid thru a wide algae-plagued puddle in Cow Creek at Marble Falls and hit the ground in a painful 10-15mph slide. Miraculously and thankfully I had no broken bones but took a couple weeks to recover from an intense ankle sprain injury as well as road rash on my arm and torso.The 5.11 pants were discolored and severely distressed although not straight out shredded, which I promptly replaced with another pair. These pants protected me from any road rash on my legs, thighs or feet. I'm positive had I been wearing my stretch-elastane jeans that I'd have sustained much worse road rash on my lower body.Surely these pants offer no impact protection, but they protected me from road rash in a low-side motorcycle accident. 5
