Great travel bagThis bag is aptly named; it really is easy on the back. I load my purses with just in case I need it items and even carried crossbody most purses begin to feel heavy. This one doesn t. I wore it crossbody on a recent trip and it was great held everything I needed (including both iPad mini and a kindle in their cases, plus wallet, sunglasses, phone, miscellaneous cosmetics, etc). I used outside pockets for quick-access items and that worked well. The only downside is that sometimes it s a little hard to retrieve and replace things from inside the bag while wearing it but if all your essentials are in outside pockets it makes an excellent travel bag. I was so happy with it and with being pain-free that when I reached my destination I continued to use it, even though I had brought a more stylish purse to change into. This is the first Healthy Back Bag I have bought in some years but the bags I bought in the past were durable and well-made and this one appears to be the same. I expect to use this one for a long while to come and I m likely to purchase in other sizes and colors. It is not the most fashionable purse so wouldn t be suitable for all occasions but it is a very well-organized, well-made bag and a godsend for folks with back and shoulder pain. 4I like the way they haveI just started using the bag -- actually, I just transferred all my things today from my old Ameribag to the new Ameribag, and, I likethe way they have, in my opinion, upgraded the bag -- it is a little wider, with an extra zipper compartment. I have used the Ameribag (small is big enough for me and I think small is quite a nice size) for some years now, probably since 2004 or 2005, andit is a very versatile bag. The distressed nylon is washable, which I like, and the color taupe is neutral. Since I need to carry a lotof items, some work related, in the bag, and since I am on the go quite a lot, I can throw lots of little things into it, and it is veryconvenient for me. It has lots of pockets of different sizes, also, It is a big in which one can organize well. Whoever designed itgave a lot of thought to these bags and the people who will use them.I do not think you will be disappointed with the Ameribag. I think you might even get more than you expected -- and, that, in a good way. I am giving this a 4 star rating, not a five, because I do not like to say "love" about anything inanimate; however, itdoes deserve a a 5 star rating, and a like it very, very much.Ingrid Nelson 4Not as good as the "classic" versionI have an older version of this bag that I bought on Amazon in 2010. I loved it but the zipper broke and it was getting beat. This bag is a slightly different shape than the older ones. I think it's about the same volume but wider and not as tall. I believe it's redesigned to make tablets fit better. In some ways the space inside is more useful, but the bag doesn't hang/sling nearly as well as the old one. The padding for the new tablet pocket makes the bag stiffer which may be part of the problem, plus it adds bulk and just generally seems in the way. (I am tempted to make a slit and try to remove it.) The unfortunate thing is if I click on the product link in my old order, it takes me to the page for the redesigned bag which is NOT the same product. I didn't realize that at the time I ordered and in hindsight should have returned this. There are still some of the "classic" bags listed on Amazon, but not in small/nylon. If I'd realized the change I'd have looked other places for one. 2OK... They're attractive, durable, functional as organizers for my wilderness ecosystem and professional lifestyle. The large, zippered, interior tablet compartment is new to me. The external zipper securing the interior organizational section has fallen apart on the previous two but only after years of usage.I recommend this bag. 3Sold on these healthy back bagsI have four of these bags. The original one is black leather. I've had it for about 25 years but the zipper broke. I'm hoping to get it fixed some day. The next was a brown polyester. It goes with a lot of outfits. Next I decided to try the black medium which turned out to be a very generous size. I'll use this one while traveling. The most recent one is the small black distressed nylon. I love it and use it every day. It's light, comfortable and spacious enough to carry all my personal goods as well as my sketchbook, watercolors, pens, and my iPad in a special padded compartment. I couldn't be more pleased! 5Versatile and DurableI have had several of these bags in the past, but in larger sizes. I love them. No, I LOVE them! The material is water-resistant and repels stains. The shoulder strap doesn't slip, because it has a non-slip material on the underside of the strap. The pockets are great, they have a magnet closure, which is much better than the old Velcro closures they used to have. The inside is an organizer's dream. There are slots for pens/pencils. There is a pocket for just about everything you could want. I love the zippered pocket to keep my checkbook (yes, I still have one). There is a slotted pocket for a wallet that is slanted so it won't fall out. There is a new long zipper along one side that is perfect for keeping papers or something important. There is a self-closing hook for keys or a thumb drive - very handy! Sooooooo, in other words, I HIGHLY recommend this bag. The perfect size for me is the small, but I have had the medium and large and used them until they wore out, which was MANY years. This thing is a workhorse. Buy it, you won't regret it! 5Good for my back but could use an update for easier cellphone accessibilityThis size is just about right for my everyday use as a purse backpack. I like the distressed nylon because it s so light in weight but easy to clean. I do wish that Ameribag had more places to attach things. The way it s built though, nothing really falls out when I turn the bag to the front to remove things. I keep my iPhone 10 in the front pocket that has a flap over it. I wish that were a magnetized pocket strictly dedicated to the cellphones we all now carry. In the smaller version of this bag the outside pockets would barely hold the iPhone X with a case but this one is a bit bigger so somewhat easier to manage all the putting in and taking out that cellphone use requires. Still, I wish it were a bit bigger and specialized for cellphone safety and easy accessibility. 4Comfortable bag with many pockets inside and out for easy organization and quick access to everything!This is my third small AmeriBag. I bought this distressed nylon bag to replace one I bought 4 years ago, which I loved and used frequently until the main zipper wore out. I have just received the new bag and I am very pleased with the slight improvements made to the design. My previous bag had velcro closures for some of the outside pockets, while the new bag has magnetic closures instead - hooray for no more velcro catching on everything! On one side of the bag, a single large outside pocket with a flap has been split into 2 in the new version. There is now a narrow "cell phone" pocket (which will fit a smaller phone but certainly not my mammoth Galaxy Note 4 in its Otter Box case) and a slightly wider pocket (which does just fit my phone with a little room to the side). The compartments and size are perfect for everything you need. I can fit a small water bottle, scarf, Kindle, phone, Kleenex, cosmetics, wallet, tour book and more in it. The style makes it very comfortable to carry over either shoulder with the bag in back or front (when trying to make sure you are not a victim of thieves looking for tourists). Both of us have had back issues and find no problems with this pack, even when wearing it for 8 - 10 hours in a day when exploring a new city. After 6 years and thousands of hours of use, my daughter ripped a seam, so this is a replacement for her. I prefer the nylon bag as it is water resistant, The distressed look gives it a bit of visual interest but is not super-noticeable. The black and grey options are neutral and go with anything. I have not seen the microfiber one. 5Disappointed because I wanted to replace my old Ameribag HB bag.Well, I have a very old (maybe 17 years) Navy HB bag in size Medium which I adore. I also had a black microfiber in small, which I gave to my sister (because it fits her better), and a Medium Khaki which I donated to Goodwill recently because I wasn't crazy about the color. I really wanted this black to replace my fading old navy. The listed Product Dimensions: 6 x 11 x 17 inches, were perfect for me, only slightly smaller than my medium and more suited to my size. However, the product I received only had a depth of 5" instead of the 6" described making the overall inside part of the bag, really small. That one inch would have made the inside roomy enough for all of my things.I am disappointed to have to return it, but grateful to Amazon Prime for making Free Returns so easy. 3
