Customer Reviews

Terrible - snaps on buckle come off!The buckle is held together with two snaps. While removing the label/tag one of the snaps just popped off. Not popped open, mind you - but the part which is supposed to stay in place (crimped down) came right off. There is no way to fix this, unfortunately, and no way to wear the belt. Anyway - poorly made, the snap should have been crimped on *without* the fabric of the label in place. Returning it and searching for another belt option... 1Thick and tough. ---UPDATED---This is a great belt. It's thick and it's one piece. Not a laminated and glued belt like you typically find for less. This is my second one and they just keep on going. They will stretch so get your exact size.UPDATE: 6 months later. The second one I ordered is clearly a bonded leather with a thin top layer. It has really stretched and on the inside of the belt you can now clearly see the little chopped and formed pieces of leather - contrary to what I indicated above. I guess you can't really tell until you get some use on it. At least I can't. The belt is really soft now and it feels like it's going to give way. As I read through the reviews, you can sure tell the fake reviews. It's almost like they get paid per review. Subject is usually "Five Stars" and then a three or four word review follows. Bottom line: there is no way this is a full grain bridle leather as indicated by the description. Mine has not fallen apart like others have reported in their reviews. So is it worth the $30? Hindsight says probably not. But, it is about half the cost of a high quality, full-grain, legit belt made in the good ol' USA. It's your call. 3Carhartt quality continues to declineI've had multiple Carhartt scratchless belts over the years, and up until now, have always found them to be high quality, comfortable and durable. To my disappointment, despite the last version of this belt handling a couple years of regular wear without any issues, this recent belt fell apart within less than a week of my purchase. After wearing the belt for a couple days the loop which was too tight for the belt to pass through and is held together by two weak paper staples (!!!) fell apart. The old version had a durable stamped piece of metal holding the loop together, and it looks like the change is a cheap cost cutting measure. I wouldn't recommend this belt until Carhartt goes back to selling them with a better loop. 2Shame.My father was in the leather business. He owned a factory that made cobbled shoes for nurses and nuns. Every summer my brother and I were allowed to work there.I just received my belt. It's not leather. It's a slurry of leather particles molded with glue into a form that can be processed into a form that could be made into a belt. Think particle board. Is it useful? Oh yeah! But not for a quality belt. I would expect this misdirection from anyone except the company I bought it from. The belt is worth $12. 2Tuff BeltThis is one tuff belt. The style and toughness go well with jeans and although a little wide for slacks it will serve as a dress belt as well. This belt is sized in accordance with normal belt sizing charts but it is about 2" shorter than the the same size Carhartt Detroit belt. If you already own a Detroit belt that fits well you should order one size larger or simply follow the sizing chart. 5Not the same carhartt as the pastThe belt looks aesthetically pleasing when it's first purchased, but after a few weeks of wear the quality issues really start to come out, after just a few months of use is already falling apart. A buddy of mine said that carhartt's quality has gone down recently, I dismissed it as maybe just one bad product but this belt along with a few other items that I had purchased from fleet farm allowed me to see the degradation in quality that this one great company has come down to. It's saddening because I used to swear by carhartt but I can no longer do so. 1Bruckle SnappedBuckle Broke just a moment ago while taking my trousers off. I am so disappointed. The belt itself seemed strong but the buckle didn't last for 5 months the least!I was expecting to have this belt for a long time for at least 3 years!I am very disappointed. 3Great Belt, crazy measurementsI had to order 3 and return 2 to get the right size. I have 2 older Carhartt Men's Journeyman Belts that are a 50 size [black and brown]I had to return earlier ones of those as 'my size' was way too big, as it is, i've drilled at least 6 to 8 holes to make those fit.i have lost some weight [yeah] and while i did wear pants at a 54 back then.....My actual size now, using a cloth tape is about 51, but i do have some pants that are a 50below is the Carhartt 'size' how long the leather actually is, and hole to buckle is longest farthest hole to end of leather beltNew Carhartt belts. May 2018Size. Leather measure. Hole to buckle50 54 5148 53 49 1/246 51 48i kept the 46 !!!!!! which actually fit, but i wish i was really down that far!!some reviews have said that a 48 was too small [short] what universe are they in??!?Other than measurements, these are great quality [as most carhartt stuff is]These are made of good leather and metal, and have lasted 8 years and while are worn, still are OKSo, not cheap, but end up being OK per year LOL 4you cant put a new belt buckle on it as it is sewn together as opposed to spending 5 cents on some snaps like belts used to haveThe Carhartt name used to mean tough work wear. This belt was not designed to last at all. The buckle is make from chap cast metal and the part of it that runs through the belt is about the size of a pencil lead. I bought the belt in mid September and it was broken by mid November.A belt is something that should last. And due to incredibly cheap manufacturing, you cant put a new belt buckle on it as it is sewn together as opposed to spending 5 cents on some snaps like belts used to have. They have the nerve to call it an Anvil. Carhartt you should be embarrassed and ashamed. Anyway don't buy this belt. 1Good everyday belt.I like the belt overall. I use this as my everyday jeans belt. Not the best quality, but reasonable for $25. I have bought 2 of these (different sizes) as I have been gradually losing weight so I needed to get a smaller size. I have a size 44 which is actually 51 inches for the actual lenght of the leather part of the belt, not including buckle. I also have a size 42 which has an actual belt lenght of 48 inches, not including the buckle. So it is a 3 inch difference between one belt size. The belts also have a two hole overlap, meaning the last hole on the bigger size belt appears to line up with the second hole of the smaller size belt. I typically wear jeans in a size 38-40 depending on the brand. My perfect fit for the belt is currently in between the 2nd and 3rd holes on the size 42 belt. The 2nd hole is a little loose and the 3rd hole on the belt is on the tight side. In the picture the buckles were even so this is how much difference there is in the lenghts. Also, I had worn the longer one for about 2 years and you see can see in the picture that the belt held up fairly well for being worn everyday. 4
