Customer Reviews

Not magic, but they help a lot I bought these for my husband after we saw them on one of those crazy tv ads. He has had a lot of eye surgery and his manufactured lenses reflect lots more light than our natural ones. So driving at night is a little more difficult for him and he says the glasses really do help. I tried them on - even during the day they make the contrast more significant so you can read signs from a further distance and spot the deer on the side of the road who is waiting to jump in front of your car more quickly. The weight of the clip on does not bother him and luckily have no problem fitting on his driving glasses. They came with a nice pouch and a cleaning cloth. Only 4 stars because they do not work as well as advertised online and on tv. 4it is great, depending on what you look for... I am a long commuter like many and especially in winter months when it gets dark early, my commute back is always in the dark. Especially on undivided roads (two way traffic) the headlights of the passing by cars can be annoying as well as disabling. So I bought these to use in night driving occasions on top of my correction glasses. It is a simple warming filter. Those, who are in photography or photoshop could understand easily. So basically it turns a white light to a warmer yellowish light which is less disturbing for eye. Especially some vehicles which have headlights in cold white spectrum, like bright fluorescent bulbs, it corrects them to be a regular whites and makes it a lot less annoying and blinding. However if you are looking for a state of art glasses that would refract away the light or (I am not sure if such an item exist at all) acts as a light sensitive dimming mirror (that adjust according to the light level), then this cheap add on item is not for you. But if you want a rather less disturbing night driving experience for a cheap price then go for it. It is easy to mount and dismount and does quite a good job for me. 5Reduces some eyestrain, but still have glare. I bought these glasses for my husband who has a hard time on freeways with oncoming lights. The glasses are very durable and the clip attaches very well to your glasses. The clip allows you to flip up the lens when not in use. The glasses stay in place well and the lens are very clear and have a yellow tint. The come with a storage bag and cleaning cloth that is a nice bonus. When my husband and I went on a trip we took the glasses with us and when night came we attached the glasses. The glasses turned the headlights yellow and was better than the bright white lights and allowed you to relax your eyes somewhat. The only problem is he still had quite a bit of glare that bothered him as it was still there. The glare was just not bright white or bluish from the lights but just a yellowish. So if you purchase these for less glare they may not be what you need. If you just want to reduce eye strain from the annoyingly bright white or blue headlights than they will do the trick. 3wearing them is better and I use the sun visior also for the ... Had to stop driving until I used these even the one on the sun visior wasnt the way to go because the bright lights could get to you thru the mirrors...wearing them is better and I use the sun visior also for the ones who have their brights on full...these are better than the other clip ons because you can flip them up going into a lighted building...although my wife thinks then nerdy...who carsa if youu dont lose them and you can drive at night again...buy a couple pair as old people tend to lose them anyways... 53 Stars because they don't tell you they are only 30% Polaroid Polaroid glasses can be tested by holding two known Polaroid lenses at right angles to each other. The light is cut off 100%. Using this test these glasses are only about 30% to at very most 50%. Looking at green or red lights and white lines they are still green, red and white but oncoming headlights are yellowish with some glare reduction. Having used shooter s glasses, I prefer less yellow and Polaroid filters especially at this price point. 100% Polaroid and yellow filters might cut too much light and be too yellow. If they said this is intentional then 5 stars otherwise it looks like a manufacturing defect. 3WOW ....Fantastic difference for the both of us! Had the opportunity to use these clip on aviator style over my metal framed prescription glasses today. I'm nearsighted and am required to wear them when driving. Clip on was a snap. Squeeze center clip, two "feet" extend, slip them over the frame, let go and the coated feet grab onto your lenses securely. One finger now flips them up or down.I drove to town with a crystal clear sky and the sun was directly overhead. We still have snow on the ground and with the glare and brightness, this was a perfect opportunity to test these out. After you get used to the color difference ( takes about a minute for your eyes to adjust) and flip up the yellow lenses, I IMMEDIATELY noticed how much glare and brightness was bouncing off the snow and into my eyes. Enough where you wanted to squint. I flipped the lenses down and was amazed at how much more comfortable and clearer my surroundings were. My eyes felt "relaxed" if there is such a thing.I live on a lake and KNOW these will be of great benefit when we're on the boat. I now understand why snowmobilers and skiers use these lenses. I'll give an update when I use them during rainy or night time conditions. But in snow and clear blue skies, these are fantastic in dampening down the glare and brightness. I had the opportunity to use them during rain and foggy conditions, and it certainly made a fantastic difference for me. I don't usually drive at night, so I still cant comment on it.After my experience, I bought a pair for my husbands glasses. He cant say enough good things about them. He too was amazed at the difference it made for him. He does a lot of driving( 30,000+ miles a year)for business. He suffers from Glaucoma, Both forms of macular degeneration and intra-ocular eye pressure and wearing these over his prescription glasses has caused less stress and he says his eyes feel "less tired" after driving for long periods........and that's a good thing. 5Essential for nighttime highway driving I've had these for 4 months and I've used them almost every day. I do lots of night driving after late hours at work and I've always been bothered by the glare of headlights. These cut out just a bit of the light so its alot more bearable, yet still enough light to drive safely. You do have to understand that due to the laws of physics, these still will decrease the amount of light getting to your eyes, and therefore your visual acuity. So my advice would be to flip them up and out of the way if driving in a very dark area, but if there are headlights coming towards you, or you are on a busy highway, flip the lenses down. Another thing I have found is that if I wear them on a longer drive (longer than an hour), I can get sleepy. I believe this is similar to the iPhone feature that can shift your screen to more yellow colors after a certain hour of day, to help prepare you for sleep. Blue light naturally wakes you up and yellow light signals the end of the day. So be aware that the yellow color may make you sleepy if you are prone to it, or going on a longer drive. I would buy these again immediately if I lost them. I was not given any discounts or other bull#$%& deal to post a positive review. I just think these are very useful 5If you deal with snow, GET THESE!! First let me mention, I ordered these on 2/13, and my estimated delivery date was 3/12-3/27. I was VERY happy to see these waiting in my mailbox on 2/24! They were also very well packaged, no possibility of damage here!OK, so as I said, if you deal with snow like I do (Michigan, especially this winter!), you will love these! When everything is that very dreary, dull, dark and hard to make out detail blue color due to the snow, these make it look like you are driving on a sunny day! I was truly amazed, so much to the point that I kept sliding them down to look over the top then back up again because the difference was so much. It takes out all the blue color but somehow makes all of the other colors brighter and more clarified. Yes, green colors change slightly, but you can still easily tell they are green. The tint is very light, but enough to be very effective. I have not had the opportunity to wear them at night yet, but even if that ends up not being a big improvement, I am going to gladly keep them for winter!Another nice note is that it has a spring loaded squeeze clip (think chip clip like) in the center so they easily clip on to your regular glasses, and have rubber grips that hold securely and won't scratch your lenses. I thought they would interfere with my vision, but that ended up not being the case at all. I barely even see them.yes, you may notice a slight weight change at first, but you are adding something on to your glasses, so no matter how light, you are going to notice it. But I quickly got used to it and had no further issues with it.One final note, be sure to measure your lenses to ensure that the night vision clip on at least covers your lenses! I could see it being very awkward and distracting if your lenses are not completely covered. My clip on goes past my glasses by about 1/2" on the outside and maybe 1/8" on the bottom, but I'm totally ok with that.Bottom line? You aren't going to win any fashion awards wearing these, but I'd rather be happier driving safely in bad weather than worrying about if someone likes my shades or not! 5Better Contrast = Clearer View I don't know how, but these increase contrast under foggy/snowy/rainy conditions, making everything much clearer.I really didn't expect much at this price, but I was surprised. The yellow must filter out the light that tends to decrease contrast. Put these on and things look at lot clearer. (I have not used these at night, so cannot comment on any night vision enhancement.) My wife liked them so much, she stole the first pair I bought so she could keep them in her car. I am now on my second pair. Neither of us has had any problems making them fit on our eyeglass frames. 5Not great for night but good for day. I have terrible night vision when driving in the city due to the many lights from other cars, neon signs etc the glare from my glasses made it difficult to see. I bought these hoping to see an improvement but for me at least they did not help at all. I still had the glare although toned down just a little. I was hoping for much better. I find that these actually work better for me during the day. The clip part that attaches to my glasses works great but is very large and you tend to look like quite a geek when wearing them.If the clip didn't stand out so much between your eyes these would be pretty good daytime sunglasses. So for me these were not so good for night driving but pretty good for during the day. 3
