Hope it's a flukeI was surprised by the poor quality. The leather strap was inconsistently colored and textured. Half of the strap had unfinished/raw edges. The leather cinch on the front flap was thin and the back was starting to feather. Giving duluth pack the benefit of the doubt and exchanging this one. I'm surprised the bag I received passed quality inspections!Edit: got my second Duluthpack and same issue with the strap but reversed. The long strap looks beautiful, dark, and smooth from the top but is fuzzy on the bottom. However, the short strap with the buckle looks beautiful on both sides. I emailed their customer service a few weeks ago and NO response. To be clear, I think the bags are beautiful if not for these "defects" in the leather consistency. I would like to receive one with a better quality strap or receive confirmation from the company that this is normal and how all the bags look.Edit 2: received from their customer service rep"Per my discussion with Ian, it sounds like you weren't satisfied with the replacement bag you received. Now, if you are a girl looking for a quality handbag more power to you. However, If you are looking for a bag you can use in the use I'd recommend a different bag. The quality is there. However the should strap is short. Like sit on your shoulder short. To wear this as you would a sling bag around your body and attempt to do so with clothes on like in winter conditions you'd hang yourself, unless maybe your body with is of a smaller frame. The bag itself is huge. This one is on my, really I should have gone with the smaller size for my purpose. As the name implies I will be using this for my muzzleloading supplies. However, before I thought clearly I ordered a replacement of the correct color, but I believe I may send it back as I suspect the strap will be the same size. Overall, nice bag, great quality, but little better than a ladies should purse.Update 1/13/16I will leave my current rating so others can see it, but I will now rate this as a 4.5. Amazon sent the correct color and to add to its unique "handmade" quality, the shoulder strap is longer on the second bag than on the first. As such, I am please with the correct bag and will be keeping it. The reason for a 4.5 is while the strap is longer and allows or more room, my personal preference I'd like maybe 1 or 2 more inches of strap.
