Customer Reviews

Light weight and SoftI like this shemagh because it is lighter than my other ones I own. I cut it in half diagonally so that when I roll it up to go around my neck it is not too thick. The cotton is soft right out of the bag. . I like to wear a scarf or bandana most days of the year and these will serve me well. All the different colors are of about the same quality from this seller. I purchased 5 and like them all.It is a good thing I bought extras. Two of my friends liked them so much I gave them as an early birthday present.Made in Pakistan and all cotton. I hand wash them in the sink and hang dry, which doesn't take long at all. If you put them in the washer I would suggest gentle cycle and air dry. Otherwise you may get a lot of shrinkage. 5Loose weave, poor workmanship, might not survive first washThe blue color is very nice. Sadly the craftsmanship is quite poor. The stitching was uneven and there were LOTS of loose and broken threads on arrival. Quality control must be non-existent.I own many shemaghs, from many different companies. This is the most poorly loomed piece I've ever bought. The weave is very loose and prone to broken threads. After a single wash, the shemagh's loose weave caused the fabric to accordion and shrink the dimensions. Stretching it helped slightly to regain some of its original size but it never returned to a square format. Now, I have a non-square, shabby and cheap looking shemagh in a nice color. I never experienced these issues with other shemaghs I own, from Rothco or any other company.I would be leery of purchasing another Fox-made shemagh. 2Wouldn't live without one or two of these.I love these things. I bought two of them. You have to was them when you first get them to get the tobacco stink out of them. However with one was they are fine. When winter roles around I depend on these, In they are large enough to wrap them in so many ways. I have two methods of wrapping that works for me. Get on youTube and you can get all kinds of education as to how the shemagh are to be wrapped and used. I have one for everyday use and the other goes in my 72 hour kit. In real cold weather I turn to wool. There are so many designs to choose from, if you don't want to look like you just stepped out of Afghanistan you can find something that works for you. Thats the only thing I found a little offensive was the smell of tobacco was so strong. However like I say one wash and that's gone. 5Decent scarf, but oil stained as mentioned by othersI've bought several different shemaghs from different companies. Two out of four were kind of crappy: one wasn't perfectly square, and the other was so thin that it snagged on everything. This one was okay in regards to the fabric, and the only part that really frustrated me was the stains. In two locations on the scarf there are stains, probably oil or grease stains. The scarf came out of the box stained, and the room I unwrapped it in had nothing that could've caused the stain either. This wouldn't be much of an issue, or I might have never noticed, except that it's white, and not green or brown or black, so the blemishes are pretty obvious. As it is, I found a way to tie it such that those stains don't show, but I am upset that it's still a problem. Functionally, it's still a shemagh, I suppose. 3Decent Shemagh, Good Price, Versatile AccessoryI got a good price on these and they look good with desert fatigues or the old digital ACUs. They're thin material, not for winter protection but good for sun protection and keeping blowing sand and dust out of your nose and mouth. There are a lot of other potential uses for a piece of cloth like this in your kit, so I figure they're worth what I paid for them. 5Good stuffLove these things. Used mine all the time in Iraq and Afghanistan. Putnam water on them and weapons it around your head and stay cool for hours. Good for dust storms and keeping your face hidden. For those of you that don't know what this is, it is a mix between an American style bandana and a keffiyeh. It is about a 2'x2' square, thin almost cheesecloth like headwear in whatever color you want or need. I still wear mine in the summer to keep cool and in the winter to keep the wind off my face and snow out of my collar. Only issue that isn't really an issue, just common sense is make sure you soak it with dish soap for a few hours in a bin all by itself. The dye will run almost to the point one would wonder how the design is still visible, regardless of supplier or manufacturer!!!. So don't use a washing machine, it will ruin your other clothes and it's too light to run all by itself so just use the sink or a bucket. 5Pretty sweetI live in extremely hot south Texas, and this thing works wonders when you're out in the summer sun getting baked to death. I love it. Only con is that I feel like I might get shot by a local redneck or Homeland Security for looking like a terrorist. 5Brand new, but well-wornThis shemagh would have gotten a better rating had it not been for a fairly large thin spot in the material. Thin... like the thin spot in the heel of that old pair of wool socks you can't bear to throw away. It was inexpensive, and for what I plan to use it for, it'll do just fine. It's just the thought of spending any amount of money for something that probably shouldn't have left the factory in a retail package that bugged me. I've since used it for what I intended it for (filtering boiled tallow (animal fat)) at the camp site, and yep... it works just fine. 3The Terrain Digital is printed, not woven, stains easily from other bleeding dyes, very very thin and too smallI got the Terrain Digital Shemagh. It's rather small. To my displeasure the colors are not woven into the fabric, the green is printed on the fabric. It has less green on it than the main image. The green looks essentially single tone, not two tone like the image. The base fabric is very very thin and very light weight, the whole thing is less than half the weight of other shemaghs I have. The base fabric readily picks up any bleeding colors from other shemaghs you wash it with, even bleeding colors from itself... It bleeds quite a bit itself. I really dislike that it's printed not woven, and that it's so small. I can deal with the lightweight and in some instances a lighter weight shemagh may be nice... but it's much different than I was expecting. The only good part is I washed it with some other green shemaghs so the overall tone of the "white" is now a greenish color. Improves the look but this thing really isn't color fast at all. 2Color bleedsThe fabric is lightweight to medium, which is what I was expecting. It seems well made. However, the dye is not set on the one I bought ("plum/black" color), and it took a lot of soaking for the bleeding to reduce. I will never wash this with any other garment (unless I want that to turn plum-colored). I recommend soaking these before use on a hot day, or you might find yourself dripping with purple sweat. 3
