Really comfortable suspendersDoing a lot of work around the house requires a lot of bending over. At 70 (officially a geezer I guess) I was having trouble with my back while bending because I had to have my belt so tight to keep my pants from sliding down exposing my plumbers crack when wearing a tool belt. I had an old pair of suspenders from another manufacture but the elastic back straps were worn out and the non elastic front strap webbing would cut into my neck making them uncomfortable plus they were very difficult to adjust. I Started checking out suspenders at Amazon and saw the rave reviews on the "Hold-ups" suspenders. I would have to agree with the other reviewers that these are very comfortable and very easy to adjust and they don't look too bad either. The elastic front straps expand and contract as you bend over creating a constant but comfortable tautness unlike some suspenders that kind of droop in the front as you bend. Also the positive and easy to use latching mechanism stays securely latched to my pants and are easy to release. I can't speak to the longevity of how long they'll last but I WILL be buying another pair. 5Contractor Series 2" Wide Black Suspenders with "pin through clamps" (Wonderful Idea)I bought my first pair of these high quality suspenders over a year before getting my second pair, both are working very well- I got the second pair to go with my "dress Carhartt clothes" I love the way these are put together, high quality materials and top quality fabrication, they don't slip in the adjustment and with the pin through clamp- stay put. If you are like myself and need suspenders because you have "no butt" to hold up your pants, these are the very best made I have found any place- Thanks to Amazon for offering a quality product at a very fair price and for the fast shipping- Thanks also to all who review these products that make life a bit easier (pants falling down is a pain in the butt) 5WOW! Suspenders that DO NOT SLIP OFF!These guys have a GREAT clip for these suspenders! The jaws grab very well, but better yet there is a thin but very sturdy pin in the center that makes dang sure that this clip CANNOT slip and come loose as has often been the case in the past. It DOES NOT hurt he fabric of the pants. The tip of the pin is sharp and moves the threads ASIDE is it goes through without damaging the pants. Of course I have used these mainly with jeans, but a nice pair of dress pants also was not damaged at all by the pin. IT JUST HOLDS! LOVE IT! The colors are bright, very durable and sturdy. I bought other colors, but the rainbow ones were a throwback to an old pair I had many years ago.These guys have the best clips in the biz and they have great quality suspenders so far of the ones I bought. 5Suspenders or Belts, that is the questionNot the most comfortable suspenders that I've ever owned for sure but the best in terms of keeping it from coming off of the pants that you're wearing. That part of it is excellent. I feel like they're a little wide and made of a material that is not very soft. They're also a little small for me as they pull down on my shoulders, even though they are fully let out. I am 5' 10" and for a shorter person they may work better. They're not horribly uncomfortable but I know I'm wearing them. The idea of how they attach to the pants is awesome. It's just this particular pair could be a little bit more comfortable and larger. Your mileage may vary. 3Apparently some suspenders are better than others!Suspenders were a product that I always assumed were all roughly the same, and I was wrong! I bought these for a pair of leather motorcycle pants that wouldn't stay up and don't have belt loops, and are supposed to ride high on the waist. These suspenders hold them up no problem, even though they weigh at LEAST 5 pounds and have no friction on my waist due to the sizing and the nylon liner. There is a pin in the jaws to pierce the fabric and guarantee a perfect hold without messing up the pants, it can't go through the leather and they still work great. Very impressed. I have tried other suspenders in the past and never liked them... cheap clasps, cheap looks, cheap materials, and even for holding up a pair of lightweight dress pants they didn't do the job. If I find myself needing suspenders for other uses, Holdup gets my business.J.Ja 5Outstanding Suspenders!These suspenders (braces for any Brits or Anzacs) are ideal. I have never had such a sturdy, well manufactured death grip pair in my life. These suspenders are tough enough to withstand the harshest environments North America can throw at them; while still being comfortable and easy on the shoulders. The best part is that they are manufactured by hard working Americans rather than impoverished slaves/employees of wall-street tycoons who pocket any money saved while thinking nothing of the inferior products peddled to the average consumer at high retail. If you are a contractor, a railroad lineman, a truck driver, a farmer, a you name it, buy these suspenders. You won't regret it! 5Great, but could be made with stainless steel in most of the metal parts, and stronger adjustment straps.The product is great, but it has to have better adjustment lock clips. I like these for the greater strength, but these are doing the same thing the original pair did. The left clip keeps sliding to make the suspenders to be loose. The right clip does sometimes, but not as much as the left one. I'd like to see them with a stainless steel slide locking clasp for both of the support straps. The end clips are fine, but will rust soon, and will break as before. Not the clip, but the wire that is used to connect the clip to the suspender straps. Otherwise there better than all the rest. That's why I keep buying them when possible. Remember, they are supposed to be lifetime guaranteed to hold up to 25 pounds. This set is now beginning to have it's locking clips to adjust length of the straps to slip. I think the straps might also be stretching because when I reset the position of the locking adjusting clamps they are getting to go over my shoulder to keep the same length of strap. Again still much better than the other suspenders on the market. Great, but could be made with stainless steel in most of the metal parts, and the straps could be made so they don't expand fast. Remember, these come with a lifetime guarantee. 4Exactly as advertised!These are the best suspenders I've used. I spent about a decade in uniform and working as a mechanic. I remember buying what I thought were strong or, "heavy duty" at the time. I was looking for them and couldn't find them, but these suspenders take my old ones and blow them out of the water.- The clasp is strong metal. There is a curvature across the top which means that the convex dome-shape will resist bending.- There is a center pin like a thumb tack that pieces through the waistline of the pants.- The teeth are this really neat blocky plastic. Example, they look like a castellated nut that mesh together (think legos if that helps).- The center pin is encapsulated in the convex metal clasp so it's not going to break or poke you.- The tension on the spring is firm so that when you're pushing this thing closed it's impossible to open up on its own. Seriously, if you were to injure your fingers on the job, you'd probably have to ask somebody to help you release the clasp. No, it's not overly aggressive or impossible. It's simply designed to not fail.- The adjustment clips on the front chest straps are also metal and strong. The teeth bite well and after 3 weeks or so of usage in the shop and daily routines, they've not slipped once.When I first opened the package and read the promotional material that was packed with them, I kind of chuckled. I will intentionally avoid other suspenders if I can find the right product with this company, they are that good. 5No more lower back painI've been having a LOT of lower back pain. Eating ibuprofen like candy. Had an mri done. Showed a slight bulging disc. Doc said it shouldn't cause a lot a of pain. So out of basic desperation. I decided to try these instead of wearing a belt. Took about a week. But now my lower back pain is gone. Seems my belt was pushing on the bulging disc and aggravating it. These are really comfortable. Only initial problem was with the shoulder strap dropping off. I moved both front and back connectors closer to the center and it fixed that. Well worth the money for me. Hope this helps someone. 5Wow, what a beautifully designed well manufactured product. Do yourself a favor and try them out!Wow, what an amazing pair of suspenders! I'm 32 and I haven't worn suspenders since I was 6 for a wedding, but my new job requires lots of lifting and bending which makes me lose about 2 inches in my waistline by the time lunch hits and I am Oh so tired of tugging at my jeans and belt.While these are incredibly well designed and manufactured suspenders, they're simply more than I needed for my job. I also discovered that I really prefer the Perry style suspenders which have a clip that connects to your belt and supports your pants that way rather than the old fashioned sharp abrasive clips. Again, these are incredible suspenders if you wear a tool belt all day long, but I do not and felt they were just more than I needed.If you carry a large load on your belt, and you prefer old fashioned clips over the Perry style suspender clips, then these are for you. Also, these seem to be the best design on the market that I was able to find for old fashioned style clips. The reason is the manufacturer designed a thread sharp needle point that pierces your jeans which makes it impossible for the clip to pop out without your say so. This is just a beautiful product in search of the right person; I just wasn't that person. Kudos to the company for making a fine product & I will most certainly recommend these to anybody that could use them. 5
