Runs a Little Big?I read all the other reviews before ordering mine, but I ended up ordering the size as listed by the manufacturer's chart. I'm 5'8" and pre-pregnancy I was a slim size 8 tall, with hips. I gained about 60 lbs with my first pregnancy, dropped all but 10 lbs within first six months post partum. Then, got pregnant again. I am currently 34 weeks pregnant with baby #2, have high amniotic fluid which means my belly is very heavy, but have gained just 7-15 lbs this pregnancy so far. However, ALL of the weight is in my belly, so I definitely needed more support to stop the feeling that my belly may very well fall-right-off-my-body.I ordered a size Medium, since the majority of the reviews listed say to order UP. I thought I'd be safe ordering a Medium thinking I'm on the very low end of the size guidelines. The chart says to go based off your CURRENT weight, so I figured I'd order this size and possibly have a little more room to grow in the next few weeks.I am currently wearing the cradle and it is barely small enough. I have it on the smallest setting, but I wish I could tighten it maybe one or two settings tighter. I should have ordered the Small. I wear the cradle on the lower part of my bump, with the back of the cradle about two inches higher, nearly at my natural waistline in the back. It is offering some relief, but I believe it would be more relieving if I had ordered a size smaller.I agree with a previous reviewer that the cradle is more comfortable if you hook it, then shift the hooks to the side instead of wearing the hooks in the front of the belly.SHIPPING: It wasn't supposed to be delivered to my house until Thurs. I got it Monday in the middle of a hurricane. Very pleased it got here so quickly as I was really suffering from the heavy belly.4The best maternity belt, HANDS DOWN!I was searching high and low for a good prenatal support belt. I wanted something that was sleek, but also supportive. It seemed like most support bands were either too bulky or too flimsy. I also hate Velcro, which is used on the majority of bands. This is also a summer pregnancy for me so I needed something that would also allow my skin to breath some. My prayers were answered with this belt! It may look small and weak compared to some of the other prenatal contraptions on the market, but this one works! It works amazingly well. I was having so much round ligament, back, and pelvic pain that I could barely walk. My belly felt so heavy! This belt has really helped to alleviate a lot of the pressure. The support it provides actually allows me to feel somewhat normal again. As far as sizing goes, I chose to follow the manufacturers sizing guide and I'm glad I did! I am petite and I orders the small. I'm 27 weeks and the small fits the best and feels like most supportive on its tightest row of hooks. This is great because I'll still have some room to let it out if need be. It's supposed to have a snug fit under the belly in order to lift it up, plus the belt is super stretchy. I'd recommend following the size guide first. Amazon is great with returns so if it doesn't work out, return it and go with the next size up.Did I mention that I love the hook and eye closure? It's just like a bra and so much nicer than Velcro. When I'm wearing this belt, it doesn't interfere with my underwear or clothing. It stays put throughout the day with a minor adjustment here or here, nothing major though. It's perfect. It pulls the baby up and really helps to take the pressure off.Don't hesitate to order or sit and suffer in silence, order this belt! I rarely write reviews, but I'm so happy with this product that I had to share. The price is also so affordable, why not give it a try? Pregnancy can be rough on the body, do whatever you can do make things easier on yourself.By the way, I've tried the Gabrialla medium support band, it was way too bulky. I've also tried the medela, it was too flimsy, awkward, and hot!Side note: it may take a quick moment to get used to wearing the belt because it will lift the baby and change your posture (for the better).5I would get the Bracoo insteadI think many people have written about these same issues, but basically I bought both this and the Bracoo Abdominal strap to try out both, I didn't want to risk getting the wrong ones and the reviews for both have pros and cons. I actually like the Bracoo MUCH better. I'm petite, but I don't think that matters, even as a petite person, this mini-cradle is seriously, just a mini-cradle, it gives a little support, but not a ton, and it feels okay. It doesn't really work whether you are small or big, if you're small, then the strap isn't tight enough to give you support, and if you're big, the strap is a little too dinky to give you support. After trying out both, the Bracoo is the one I would recommend above all else, the larger strap gives you a ton of support, very much adjustable throughout your WHOLE pregnancy. Even if you're not having back pain, it just eases the tension of carrying extra weight around, and it will help get you through the rest of the pregnancy when you're huge. I'm a big fan of the Bracoo, this mini-cradle didn't even come close to it unfortunately....3Great support and invisible under clothesThis belt provided relief to my aching back and pelvic muscles and bones. Once my third trimester started I was really having problems with walking because my hips and pelvic area hurt so much. Once I started wearing this belt under my clothes, that pain essentially went away. I even took this on a trip to Disney World when I was 31 weeks pregnant, and it helped immensely with all of the walking around. In all of the pictures you can't tell I'm wearing it, either... it fits seamlessly under my clothes. Most of my pants are the "full support" maternity pants with the belly cover, so I just put the belt on top of the elastic of my pants and pull my shirt over top of it.The reason for no five stars is that the elastic of the belt is very clearly bent by the end of the day if I have been sitting a lot. Even on the days when I haven't been sitting much there is an evident crease. Usually if I need to reshape the elastic I will just let it soak in the sink at the end of the day and let it drip-dry on the towel bar overnight. Other than this small problem it is a great product that I would certainly recommend if you are experiencing discomfort during your pregnancy!4Comparison of Petite and Small Size Mini-CradlesSince I'm right around the size change, I decided to go ahead and purchase both the petite and small sizes of the mini-cradles due to all the disagreement over sizing. I am 5'3, currently 130 lbs., and 28 weeks pregnant. My pre-pregnancy weight was 116, and I was a 4 or 6 in most pants. My stomach has been feeling very heavy and stretched lately, and my back has been killing me, so I was looking for something to take the pressure off. As far as that goes, I'm happy with this product. I will update once I've been wearing this around for a few weeks, but my initial impression is good. The elastic is stretchy but firm and doesn't roll when I sit down. They seem sturdy and well made, with the hooks firmly attached. Both sizes have three sets of hooks. The petite size currently fits me on the middle section of hooks. At first I had it fastened on the loosest setting, but that was no firmer than the waistband on a typical pair of maternity pants. Once I fastened it tighter, I felt a lot more supported, but not constricted. My upper butt/lower back fat did muffin-top out a little bit, but I'm beyond caring at this point. When I took it off, the difference was really noticeable. It felt like my stomach fell. Here are my comparisons between the sizes:Size: PetiteUn-stretched Length: 32 inches (flat on the table)Stretched Length: up to 44 inches (this is just me stretching it as far as I could next to a tape measure on the floor)Distance between sets of hooks: 3.5 inches, with the first set of hooks about 1/2 inch from the endSize: SmallUn-stretched Length: 36 inchesStretched Length: up to 52 inchesDistance between sets of hooks: 3.5 inches, with the first set of hooks about 1/2 inch from the endTo me, the tightest setting on the small felt about the same as the loosest setting on the petite. The only thing I'd do to improve these is to make more rows of hooks. 3.5 inches is a pretty long distance between settings. If you have sewing knowledge, I bet you could add more hooks. I am going to keep both of these, as I am expecting to grow a lot in the last three months, and anticipate needing the small once I grow out of the petite. Considering both of them together cost about the same as one size of any of the competitors, I'm overall quite happy. Also, I was a little bit worried (probably foolishly) about smashing the baby, but she is just as active as always when I'm wearing this, so I think everything is okay in that department.4Amazing Product + Sizing SuggestionsThis product is a life-saver and the price just can't be beat! I ordered it when I was 30 weeks pregnant (with twins) and was starting to have a hard time carrying all of that weight in the front. I was starting to have lower back pain as well as pain in my lower abdomen where the weight of the babies was pushing down on my lower body. I'm so glad I took the jump and ordered this product.I was really torn on what size to buy as the product sizing description seemed to clash with a lot of the product sizing reviews. I ended up ordering the small as I'm 5'2, weighed 135 before pregnancy and weighed about 156-158 at 30 weeks pregnant with twins. When the shipment arrived, I could not put it on fast enough. I had to use the loosest setting as the middle setting felt good for support but was cutting into me too tightly to wear for a long period of time. After wearing it all day, every day (and it possibly stretching a bit) over the first week, I was really disappointed that the three different rows of eyes were so far apart. I was discussing it with my mom, who owns a sewing machine, and she suggested trying to adjust some of the eyes so the hooks wouldn't have to reach as far as the second/middle setting. What a great idea! She was able to easily remove the third row (which was the tightest setting and I'd never be able to use this far along in the pregnancy) of eyes as it's a strip of fabric that is sewn on to the band. Once she removed that piece, I just held up the band and she marked the perfect spot for my 32-weeks pregnant progress, which ended up being right between the first and second row of eyes. It literally took her five minutes to do and she said she'd be happy to move it again, if necessary, over the next five weeks of my pregnancy.I am so glad that I made this purchase and so impressed that I'm getting such amazing support and relief for under $20! I plan to save this band for any future pregnancies, especially knowing that that rows of eyes can be so easily moved to the perfect position for me and my body.5My doctor recommended this for meI have a disk injury in my lower back. I am 21 weeks, and my doctor recommended I use this brand for my back. Before I bought this one, I did purchase a more expensive brand, and it did not work at all or fit me. I was worried about the sizing with this one. I am normally a XL. And I ordered the XL in this and it was actually a little bit bigger. But it has 3 adjustments. I feel the support and the weight being lifted off my back. It definitely helped me when I needed it. Still currently pregnant and using it.5ahhhh... a bra for your belly!this was the best $20 i have ever spent on amazon!! maybe? well, definitely top 5. i am currently 33 weeks pregnant with my second baybeh and let me tell you: the weight from this child had completely wrecked me! i felt like i had a giant boulder afixed to my front that caused pain whenever i lifted my legs to either put my pants on or even walk. my back was suffering, too but with a full time job and a family to tend to, not like i could sit around with my feet up all day! stretching and yoga did nothing and finally i decided to try a belly band. within 30 minutes, i felt a drastic reduction in pressure off my pelvis, hips and legs and even though i don't sleep with it, i am more comfortable at night, too.DO NOT SIZE UP!! i'm glad i read multiple reviews before selecting and buying but i noticed many of the more recent/popular reviews recommended sizing up. i'm glad i didn't. i am 5'5" with a short torso, normally 145 lbs and currently 163-ish... i got the small and it's a perfect fit. i wear it comfortably on the middle hook but could even hook it on the closest hook if i wanted. for this to be effective and provide the support you need, it needs to be worn snug and fitted, like a bra so it will lift your belly up. PLEASE follow the manufacturer's size recommendations and my recommendation to buy this if you are looking for a cheap but effective miracle in a box.5My son liked to sit on my sciatic nerve and made it ...This product was a life saver when I was pregnant with my son! My son liked to sit on my sciatic nerve and made it almost unbearable. This amazing cradle helped so much. I would lay on the bed in order to strap the band on as then he wouldn't be lying so far down on the nerve. Upon standing up, it would hold him just enough off the nerve that I would be able to function for the day. As soon as I would take this cradle off at the end of my day, he would immediately shift right back into his favorite spot.I am so glad I went with this band and not one of the extremely wide bands and I think it would have been uncomfortable and hot to say the least. This one was perfect and after my son was born, I just wore it tighter to help my stomach in the shrinking process and support.I hope this helps in your decision for this product. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, or if you found this review helpful, please select the link indicating so!5Helped my friends backI bought this for a friend, fellow hairdresser. She says it helps her back pain and regrets it when she forgets to wear it to work, which isn't very often. Although it is uncomfortable to sit in, we stand all day and it really helps her. She is very tiny so I bought the extra small and it fits perfect. Glad I bought it for her because her back was killing her and when your pregnant you really don't want to spend money on things you'll wear for the last 2 months. I used one similar to this but it had Velcro and even since I used it for a short time it was helpful. The Velcro didn't hold up taking it on and off so I figured the hooks would be better. Bottom line is she is grateful I bought it for her.5
