Never been machine washed...always hand washed and air dried. Starting to fall apart at bill seem. Emailed Seller today and waiting for response. Looks great. The fabric is tough but thin, like what tents are made of. The brim is sturdy and light and holds the shape it's bent into. The hat folds flat into the brim for easy packing. You only notice when you put it on, reposition it, or take it off.Winkles: It's true, you will never get the wrinkles out. I tried wetting it a few times and smoothing them out using a hair dryer on warm and hot settings (not hot enough to melt) and the wrinkles are still there but I expected that and they are pretty minor.Comfort: Not sure about wearing this in the heat.
