Customer Reviews

Horrible socksI've never bought worse socks in my life. First place, they are quitters right out of the box. They constantly fall down. Second place, they all got holes in them within the first month. Don't waste your money. As a matter of fact, I'm looking for another brand right now. 1worksTight around the leg, but that is what it is supposed to be. I have larger calves. I wore them with regular socks in hiking boots, no problem. I guess I could use them with dress shoes without another sock or if I wanted more cushion, add a regular sock too. These are thin. Would not use alone with sport shoes or hiking boots. 5Don't buy themI ordered this sock size 7 -12 because the picture shows them going all the way up the calf. The socks I got only go 1/2 way up so they are of no use to someone like me who needs compression to the knee. Also, they are not very tight except for the foot. I wish I saved the packaging so I could send them back. I only wear compression socks and these are the worst pair I have bought. 1Perfect for long flightsI am a female (size 10 shoe) and these were a great fit for me. I don't know if my husband with a wider foot and much thicker calf could have worn these at all. I bought them to reduce swelling on some very long flights, and they worked beautifully. I noticed that the flight attendants were wearing similar stockings. The socks are a bit of a trick to put on, but watching a video on how to put on compression socks helps. 5However #3 would be a good sock for long flights for healthy peopleI brought 3 different brands of socks. This one was the #3 performer for compression. #1 for compression was "Vitalsox Graduated Compression VT1211 " #2 was "Compression Socks (1 Pair) 20-30mmHg Graduated", #3 for compression was "Sugar Free, Sox Compression Socks | Men's Black Compression Stocking". I was looking for max compression after surgery. However #3 would be a good sock for long flights for healthy people 3won't stay upI bought these to use on the long overseas flights I take a few times a year. Fortunately I decided to try them out around home before I took them on the road. First day I wore them I found that they constantly ended up falling down around my ankles. They just won't stay up where they need to be. 2Bought these after foot surgeryMy orthopedic surgeon recommended wearing compression socks after my foot surgery to help with swelling. Since I am a woman with a size 11 shoe I opted for the men's as I doubted a women's size 4-11 would fit. They are perfect. Also bought a second pair for my husband. They really help keep swelling down. 5Rant and Rave for support hoseI'm in my eighties and have been wearing sup[port hose for many decades. On the positive side, the socks fit OVER the knees which is very good. However, on the negative side, they will rip at the top when putting them on after two to three uses. I've never had this happen with any support hose. So far, In the 6 pair I've purchased this has happened to four of twelve socks total. 1Excellent low cost sock for the frequent travelerI bought a pair of these socks shortly after I bought the TravelSox Unisex 2000 Travelsox ($30). I needed a second set for my travel back to home. Both socks are excellent however these black compression socks have the edge as they do nearly the same thing as the TravelSox but at half the price. The goal is the prevent health issues in your legs and feet plus be comfortable to wear. These socks do just that, they circulate the blood in your legs and feet plus feel good once you get used to them. These travel socks have made my travel days much better. They help circulate the blood in my legs and black goes with any attire. A few things to know or consider if you never worn compression socks before (like me): 1) They are just that "compression" and they fit tight around your legs, calves and feet...as they should. These socks are not the most comfortable at first but you will get used to them. 2) They are a beast to put on! It took me a few minutes to get on properly. These socks give new meaning to the word "compressed." It will take a lot of effort to put them on at first. There is a trick to it but too long to write, so go to youtube and type in "How to put on compression socks" and get a crash course. It will help. 3) Cold wash and drip/hang dry, don't place in the dryer, they will last longer. The Travel Unisex 2000 socks are good too. They are actually tighter on the feet and feel just a good as these socks. If you are on a budget and want a low cost compression socks for starters, try these. Upgrade to the travel Unisex 2000 when your budget permits. 5The socks feel great when you wear themThe socks feel great when you wear them, unfortunately holes form in the toe area very quickly. I find that toes blow out after 6-8 wearings. They really need to reinforce the toe area. At $18 a pair I cannot recommend. If they were $8-10 dollars, I might be able justify buying a sock that blows out in the toe area so quickly. 1
