Customer Reviews

Mountain horse bootsGreat boots, great seller 5I was pleased with the shipping timeThese boots are not as warm as the last pair of Rimfrost boots that I bought a few years ago. The last pair also were not made of leather. Leather does not hold up very well in the horse manure and urine so I doubt that these will last as long. I probably wont buy these again if the quality is going to go down hill.I was pleased with the shipping time. My boots did arrive in only a few days. 3Best winter Riding boot made! This is the second pair of these boots that I have bought. This pair was to small, I needed to go half a size up from my normal shoe size. I really love the Mountain Horse line. Unfortunately it's been awhile since I bought them, so I'm not sure if they run small now or my foot has changed, haha. I stand by the quality of the boot though. The last pair I owned lasted for five years, and that was riding three to four times a week during the Chicago winters, so six months. Not to mention, I would also wear them when I walked my dog. I could lounge around in these boots all day. They are the warmest most comfortable winter riding boot I have ever owned. 5Upgraded appearance a bit better than old pair they replaced.Birthday gift replacement for a very old worn pair of the same. She loved them and saw some nice little improvements over the old ones. 5Keep you warm at the expense of some dexterityI bought these because I couldn't feel my toes after 20 minutes in the saddle in Illinois winter weather. I typically wear a size 6-6.5 in shoes so I bought the size 7 thinking I'd want room to get a layer or two of thick socks in these. Riding (and walking) in them feels like you're wearing steel-toed boots (speaking from experience). It may be because they're a size large but they feel HUGE and I MUST wear really thick or double layers of socks just to feel like I'm not floating around in them. They're also pretty stiff (this may work out over time) so I don't get quite as deep into my heels when I'm having to fight the heavy boot. That said though, I'm still perfectly able to use my leg and my toes aren't freezing. So they do the job and you should probably buy your "true" size instead of 0.5-1 size up as they clearly provide PLENTY of space. Also, for those concerned about the fit around the calf: My calves are generally a tightish fit in regular boots (I'm a runner) but there's no problem here. The gusseted back/sides means the boot will stretch in the widest section of your leg. 4Warm boot - does the job.My feet have never been cold in these boots. They are a little bulky and not very fashionable, but they are WARM. It's all about not having cold toes. I wish they had a little better traction in the sole as they are a little slippery in the snow. This is my 3rd pair. 5Unfortunately these boots are very uncomfortable. They are so ...Unfortunately these boots are very uncomfortable. They are so stiff and the leather rubs and digs into my ankles and heels... I only had them On for about 15 minuets before I noticed blisters starting. Maybe after breaking them in this won t be a problem, but having to wear them to break them in might be impossible. 1Not happyI felt that these boots are over priced and extremely uncomfortable. They are made of some kind of hard rubber or plastic. I wore them once and my ankles got very sore- there's no "give" to them. Maybe I just don't have the patience to "break them in" as others have said. They are very difficult to get on and then zippered. They shipped on time but overall I was disappointed. 1Two StarsVery stiff. They were bulky. 2overall good equine winter bootsI have had these boots in the past and they lasted around 3-4 years. The zipper blew out so I had to buy a new pair. I forgot to order a larger than needed size. I think these boots run small. I also need to get a wide pair as I have big calves. I have been wearing them now for around 2 weeks. They seem to be o.k. but I think the material is stiffer than the past. They are not the most comfortable in the heel. I am sure they will break in within time. Overall good boots for the money. 4
