Customer Reviews

Order extra cleatsMy husband was so sceptical about these boots keeping his feet warm since he has yet to find a pair of work boots that do, and we live in the good old U.P so it gets really cold here plus lots of snow. He has told me on numerous occasions that he really likes these boots. He is out in the elements for at least 8 hours, so being warm is a must. The only thing is I didn't order more replacement cleats at the same time and he lost one right away. I ordered some and replaced the missing one and he was happy. Thanks for making such a good product. 5Will Save My BootsI bought two pairs of Neos overshoes one pair for my husband which are the NEOS 11" and they are great and will be ideal when we go to Alaska in March 2018. He hasn't tried them on with his hiking boots yet so I hope the opening is big enough to get them on. For myself I got the Navigator 5 and the only thing is that the opening to get my boots inside them is a bit snug but I just managed. One other thing is that both shoes are marked "Left" not "Left" and "Right". I believe it has to do with the innersole not the actual overshoe itself as one is definitely "Left" and the other is definitely "Right" but I think whoever made it put two "Left" innersoles inside. 4Added safety for those who work outside in the winter. They work really well once you have the correct size. I ordered them twice. First size didn't fit my work boots. The recommended sizes in the description is not true. Pay attention to the measuring chart and actually measure your boots/shoes that these will be going over. If it looks like it's just a little small they will not fit. These over shoes do not stretch.Once you get them make sure you tighten the studs. Some of mine were very loose. Don't use lock tight, the rubber will hold them in just fine. I do recommend getting an extra set of studs if you walk on coarse substrate or cement. The studs won't last a full winter. They are very water tight. I can't say they are water proof. Since I've had them the temps haven't been above freezing yet to test that theory. The sole is very tacky and aggressive without the studs and on slick ice, is probably better than with the studs. They are insulated. My boots are also insulated so I'm not sure how much these help. I can tell you that my feet don't freeze at all in Sub zero temps so that is a plus. I do recommend making sure that the Velcro is sealed and that you use the binding to make sure they are closed properly. My one con is that they are expensive. Since I've had them, I haven't fallen down at work and this is why I purchased them. It is still possible to fall but if you walk properly in icy conditions these will help reduce the chances of falling. 5disappointedI have had a pair of NEOS overshoes for years. They were wonderful, but finally wore out. Maybe I bought a different version this time, or maybe the company has changed the overshoe. The fit for the foot is good. Tightening the strap is not easy. The main problem is the top that extends up the ankle and leg. The velcro tab that would close that top is just too short. There is no way I can close the uppers. I am not sure who they thought would have legs so thin, possibly thin teenagers. I am buying velcro straps to wrap around the tops to close them tight as they should be. This is a design flaw, a bit longer velcro tab would have solved the situation. 2great snow shoes, but not great on ice.i have extensive experience with these at prudoe bay and can say they add significant insulation even to my non insulated work boots. They stay secure on the foot pretty well.cons: in extreme cold weather i have personally broke off the plastic piece on the tip of the strap holding down the neos against the boot. the so called grip studs on the bottom do come out fairly easy if not looked after so i suggest checking them often, like once a day, luckily the boots have a nice storage pouch inside where it carries the stud tightener. the grip studs do not do well on ice, you will still slide around, they almost dont do anything on ice. 5Recommend to anyoneNeos are a great boot; I mean overshoe. The thing I like is the idea of not having to take off shoes to put on boots. Your feet are already warm in their normal shoe, and never seem to lose the warmth once the boot is on. Boot is also interchangeble between me and my children since 1 can fit a couple of different sizes. We've even loaned them to neighbors when they come over. Good traction, insulation, and ease of putting them on or off. Decent price and our other pair we got 5 years ago is still being used, with regular use during Idaho winters. The only reasons I give 4 instead of 5 stars are: 1- my son said they were slightly too wide to be comfortable riding his snowmobile; 2- I didn't observe other colors available besides brown and black (for girls). Even a light gray would be a nicer look for my wife. 4Tighten the cleats before use! This is my second pair of Neos boots with the stabilicers, but I have also used the regular Neos overshoes that I used to get with my USPS uniform allowance. Both types of boots are excellent and I have always been totally satisfied. But I don't use them as overshoes. I use heavy felt liners plus orthotic insoles for support instead of shoes. Much warmer and somewhat lighter.I use the Canadian felt liners from The Felt Store (available on Amazon). They are good to -40. Size 13 liners fit perfectly into the XL Stabilicers boots. But both pairs of the boots with stabilicers came with the cleats not entirely screwed in. Some were actually loose. A small hex wrench is included so it's very easy to tighten them. Just be sure you do it. 5UPS driver -12 weather deferentially happySo look the boots underneath leather, so i can't say my feet were toasty by fire, but they were definitely warmer than anything i had been using. i possibly need to change socks for the boot underneath also. but i was dying toes almost frostbit. 3 of us ordered these after negative temperatures hit us. , least i'm not trying to wear 2 pairs of socks now. i only had to endure 6-8 hrs during that polar vortex, but glad i have these now. 5I like them.....and I walk 12 miles a day in them.I work in Michigan as a City Carrier delivering a walking route day after day. I've worn these during the snowy, non-shoveled days and these work like a charm. My feet have stayed dry (except maybe for sweat) and warm each and every day I've used them. My walking route is 12 miles so I'm in the elements the whole day and I will say there was no need to use toe warmers and also the portion of my calf that was covered was warm the whole day as well. These are pretty lightweight (lighter than the Thorogoods) and have held up well so far. BEFORE BUYING: I would go to the NEOs website and read about the sizing as this is pretty important to get the right size since you have to measure the shoe you are going to wear inside, match it up with the sizing chart then order a size up. Trust me. Read it so you don't have to return anything. 5worth every penny (but of course look for a price you like)I was looking for an overshoe that would be easy to put on and take off and provide me with comfort, warmth and unencumbered mobility while monitoring the playground on snowy days. The ease of putting the overshoe on was very important because after helping a gaggle of toddlers with snowpants, boots, coats, mittens, etc, I don't want them waiting too long on me before we go outside and I also don't want to be stuck wearing heavy snowboots indoors all day. Not every snowboot is made that allows the wearer to comfortably get up and down off the ground, crouch, etc. Overshoes are exactly what I need. Most days this winter I've worn my little bean boot rubber mocs and found them to be extremely practical but on those heavy snow days when I take the children outside or have to shovel some snow, these overhsoes are perfect. So, I originally bought the medium size because I'd measured my shoes and gone by the size chart on the NEO website. I found it impossible to get my shoe into the boot though, despite careful measuring and loosening straps, etc. So I sent them back and exchanged them for the next size up. The fact that the measuring chart and reality of these overshoes isn't quite realistic might make some people dock a star, I pondered docking one because of the size issue. But these shoes are so well made and sturdy, I feel that realistically they deserve all the stars you can give them. These overshoes are quite large because they have to go OVER your shoe and foot and thus, can't be the same size. So walking around in them looks and feels awkward while you're in that "I'm getting used to this" phase. But they do feel comfortable and warm otherwise, right out of the box. Yes, they are a bit heavy and yes, it is awkward. Please remember these are meant to go OVER your shoes and that's why they're awkward at first and why they feel heavy. You're wearing two pairs of shoes. I feel like I have to repeat that a lot, because at first, I found it frustrating and I have seen a number of reviews posted from people who just couldn't bear these shoes. I did find that they can be a bit iffy when you take them off, and I often have to fish out my regular shoes after I take off the boots but that's not a deal breaker for me. Also, I have large calves. Large enough that it does make buying boots difficult, and these do "wrap" around your calves with velcro. My calves are too large for these (and I have short legs with probably doesn't help that) at the top and I worried about how I'd keep them on. I pondered getting those straps that cyclists use to hold their pantlegs in place, and using that to help hold the boot in place but even though I can't fully velcro ALL the velcro parts, they stay on and it's not a problem. But if that becomes an issue for me at some point, that's my "fix" solution. I'm glad I made the investment, they're working out perfectly.I think the only negative I can come up with is that actually, these might not be very easy to run in. At least for me.I did find the price a little daunting because I'm on a bit of a fixed income as a teacher, but if you shop around and put a little effort into it, it is possible to find them for a lesser price. 5
