Made in USAI have no issues with the quality. Mine are Made in USA which I have read some Oakley review complaints where that isn't the case. If you pay this amount for sunglasses they should be domestic. Walmart sells Chinese ones for $10 if you want something from there. Mine isn t coming off and I m super sweaty. 5Not built the same as what you find in-store, but your also not getting these for $200+So i was looking forward to recieving my pair of sunglasses today, its been awhile since ive owned a pair which before i owned crankshaft which fit really nicely. I have to say when i got my first look i noticed the glasses were pretty big, like my grandma could wear these lol, also the way there were put together "feels light and cheap" if that makes sense? The inside of the arms look like someone was rubbing the "matte" color off...but other than those visual noticeable features, im overall satisfied but at the same time not impressed. The crankshaft sunglasses at least felt american made!! Pics to come later! 4Slimmer/Sleeker than Det Cords, but a looser fit and far less peripheral vision due to the smaller lenses. Not Z87.1+ compliantWhile the lenses are smaller than the Det Cords, the Gas Cans are actually wider than the Det Cords. The Det Cords really grip my temples, but these sort of just slip on. Unfortunately, the Gas Cans have much more restricted peripheral vision than the Det Cords and feel even more like wearing horse blinders. These are actually printed as "Made in USA" but the box label says it was assembled in the US. My Det Cords were from Oakley's Standard Issue program and had Made in USA actually molded into the plastic. The gray lenses on these Gas Cans were also inconsistent. One had about 19% visible light transmission and the other was 18%. My Det Cords with gray lenses were 16%, while my ESS 5B with smoke gray lenses was 17%. The Gas Cans weigh 33 grams, while the Det Cords are 37 grams (thicker frame and lenses for MIL-PRF-43342 compliance). 3I doubt if its original, plastic bold is too weak.Too flimsy material for the price of this sunglasses, contemplated on returning it but decided to keep it but wont buy again never!!For the price you only get this in cloth sack for a case, just really not all that is projected to be. Believe it or not, i doubt this American made, i think is a knock off from china. Won't go through the hassle of return, this is my first and my last buying a shade this expensive from on here without checking it out from a store first. Dont waste your money go into a store and check them out first, if you like it, you then decide to buy on here and i didnt do that. 2AuthenticMy husbands favorite glasses , this is his 3rd pair in the last 12 years of being together and can vouch to say they are authentic . Based on previous experience with Oakley glasses, I have been extremely happy with the scratch resistance of the lens. The Oakley Gascan glasses fit well, do not slip, and provide good peripheral protection as designed. For those seeking light weight, durable and front / side protective eyewear for casual, duty, or training use, these are a very good option. 5Poor qualityI bought this pair Gascan to replace my lost or stolen Ray Bans that I bought in 2009. I was told the optics were superior and My sister loved hers till she lost em. The Oakley was so cheap my sister had doubts if they were authentic.also I compared them to my 3 for $ 25.00 chinese made sunglasses and the oakley was not a whole lot better. Seems I paid for the name. if this is the trend for sunglasses I might as well go to the swap meet and buy the cheap garbage they sell. 1
