Customer Reviews

How do people survive in Kodiak (or any wet climate) without one of these nifty gadgets?I never thought my favorite household item would be a boot dryer. In Kodiak, AK it rains a lot. We also spend a lot of time in the rivers & at the beach and the kids play soccer & do everything else in the rain too. After researching all the options, I bought the PEET Dryer Advantage M07F 4 Shoe Electric Express Dryer. We have a family of four with at least 4 pairs of wet shoes/boots per day. We use ours almost every day & it works without fail. The timer on this dryer is nice to have and the option of heat/no heat drying is a great feature. After pouring out standing water from my kids' boots, I put them on the dryer and they're dry in 1-2 hours. It works well enough that we can dry the whole family's boots in under 4 hours. As a previous reviewer said, if you're drying just one pair of boots, you can remove the boot attachments from two of the posts & use a book or something similar to cover them, forcing all the air to your single pair of shoes. It would be nice if you could set it for one pair or for two. But this is really not a deal breaker. When your shoes stay wet, they tend to smell REALLY sour. By using this dryer, it takes away all the nasty smell too. Also great for drying gloves or warming them up before you head out into the cold. This unit is really quiet. I use it in my laundry room with the door open (you can't hear it anywhere else in the house.)I bought a pair of extenders for $10 for drying taller boots (like waders.) PEET Dryer H2-B Two 12-inch DryPort Boot Extension Attachment Those are worth the extra money. Thank you, PEET, for an amazing product. And thanks to Amazon for fast shipping to Kodiak!! 5Close, but not nearly as good as the OriginalI was excited to try the 4 shoe dryer as I love our Peet Original Boot Dryer, but needed more options for drying. We live in Seattle and my son plays lacrosse, so 80% of the time we coming home with wet gear. I bought the helmet attachment, which did work well, but even after 120 minutes, his gloves were still wet. I ended up putting them on the original Peet dryer and they were warm and dry quickly. Not sure if I have a bad dryer, but there is no warm air coming out when set to 'heat'. I feel I would have been better off to buy another Original Boot Dryer as that one works great. Really bummed this doesn't work as well as the Original. 3Lots of wet boots this winter but this is helpingIt's been an exceptionally wet winter this year and two of the boots that I purchased for my kids ended were badly designed (no removal liners). Since washing them every day would be self defeating, I went with this option instead. What a life saver for my kids footwear. I do wish it was a little warmer temperature wise so the boots would dry quicker but then I'd have to be worried about fire concerns.Easy to assemble, easy to operate and sturdy enough (so far) for my kids to use too (6 yr & 9 yr). Also the pillars are tall enough to work with my muck boots which is a bonus. One lesson learned was that it works more efficiently when used in a "heated" room. I started using it on our enclosed mud porch, which is not heated, but it was taking forever to dry the boots (a couple cycles of time). I didn't think about the dryer having to work harder to heat the air under this circumstance. I moved the dryer into one of the rooms in our house and that made a world of difference. 4HOWEVER this PEET Dryer blah blah blah works much better. I put the helmet attachment on one side ...It is quite.I purchased these for Motorcycle gloves but did not purchase the glove attachment. I purchased a previous unit that did not have a fan just "heat induction" and my gloves were still soaked after being on the unit all night -- not gunna work nope no sur.HOWEVER this PEET Dryer blah blah blah works much better. I put the helmet attachment on one side and intentionally sink soaked gloves on the boot attachment on the other. Three hours later, the helmet was dry and the gloves had a few damp spots in the fingers that were gone after a second "spin" on the dyer. So for MC gloves, I would recommend the gloves adapter which is on my wish list.It blows through all 4 but I just put a book or something on the ones I am not using and the open ones do receive more air pressure in exchange. 5Works perfectly for us. Does everything I had hoped for.Love this dryer. I currently use it to dry kids shoes and my son's soccer goalkeeper gloves.I hand wash my son's keeper gives, roll them in a towel, then place them on this dryer. I set the timer to the max time of 240 minutes and the gloves are dry. I don't have the glove adapter, the boot ones work fine for us with this type of glove. Since the gloves are expensive and have natural latex palms that can't be dried hot or laid in the sun, this dryer seemed like the solution. It used to take 2 days to get the gloves dry. Impractical and potentially stinky! The dryer is great for even the most soaked shoes too. Played a game in the rain? Cleats are bone dry in the morning and ready to go back in the bag to be taken along to school team practice.I don't find this unit noisy. The first day as I was figuring it out, I placed the unit on my kitchen counter. The dryer was on, my microwave was on, I stepped back and decided they were fairly equal in sound. I have a hepa filter/fan on that completely drowns the sound of this dryer where it is currently.Kids are starting travel teams. I will get the smaller unit for traveling. No more wet shoes or smelly gloves. 5Way to LOUD!Ive owned one of the original Peet dryers the one without the fan and its worked wonderfully. So when i saw this i figured it would be great to be able to do more shoes at once and to have the heating process go even faster. However when i plugged it in the fan was so bloody loud that i could hear it clearly way down the hall way. I expected it to make some noise but not as much as it did. The description says "Whisper-quiet motor", obviously the person who wrote that is either deaf or has never heard anyone but a giant whisper because it was not quiet at all. Im sure the product dries out shoes even faster than my original one but its not worth the noise to me, ill stick with the good old original one. 2has heat and a blower! wet shoes don t stand a chancemy husband loves his peet heat. i got him the single pair of shoes dryer last year and decided to up my game this year and get him the double dryers.he rides his bike to commute and we live in the PNW where it is often rainy. he puts his sneakers on here after riding in the rain and they are dry by the next day.he loves that this dryer has heat AND a blower (where as the other model only blows heat) but the only downside is you have to remember to turn this model on.the single pair dryer is always on, so anytime you put your shoes on the dryer as long as it s plugged in they will dry.this model has knobs that you use to turn it on, so if you ve gotten in the habit of throw your shoes on and walk away, you might forget to turn this guy on and wake up to wet shoes. 4Works Good and It's Still Going StrongWell, I bought this unit (from Amazon.com) in 2011 along with the optional boot extensions and the glove attachments. I use this unit religiously every winter to dry out my boots, socks, and gloves after shoveling snow.Although this unit has been intentionally designed to not put out a lot of heat (as not to damage gloves and footwear), it still does a good job drying out my boots and gloves. Although the glove attachment looks a bit odd, it actually does a pretty good job ensuring that each finger is properly dried. BTW, I have only used the heated air setting, as I have found no need to use the non-heat setting.Like some other reviewers have mentioned, it would've been nice if this unit came with some caps, so that one could use only one side of the unit instead of being forced to use all four openings all at once. For me, this was easily rectified after I finally located some plastic caps which fit and work well. Since the force of warm air is not that strong, the openings can even be sealed-off with some cardboard (cut to size) and affixed with tape...if one so desires.Other reviewers have noted that their hairdryer would do a better job. Sure, your blow dryer will no doubt 'kick out' a lot more air at a higher temperature, but that will ruin your footwear, gloves, and your blow dryer in the process. A warm steady air flow over an extended period of time works best.Since the unit remains on whenever it's plugged into an outlet, I have found a away to actually 'fix' this. I actually have mine plugged into a switchable wall plug adapter, so that I can just switch it on when it's needed and switch it off when I'm done. These switchable plug adapters are available from your local hardware store for about three dollars. The adapter's red toggle switch lights-up whenever power is being supplied to an appliance...cheers. 5Better off with the PEET originalThis is more an advisory than a review, this product does a fine job of drying shoes, however I think most would be better served with the original PEET boot dryerhttps://www.amazon.com/PEET-Dryer-Original-2-Shoe-Electric/dp/B001J4HQ76/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1513032008&sr=8-3&keywords=peet+original+boot+dryer3 reasons1. this thing is noisy, I can hear it throughout my house, granted it is a small house, but the original boot dryer is completely silent, perhaps this one will dry faster, however I can't think of a time when left overnight the original hasn't completely dried my boots either.2. It costs twice as much, of course it dries twice as many pieces of footwear.3. This is the big one, you can set it to run for a maximum of 4 hours, so while you are sleeping it turns itself off, with the original when you put your boots on in the morning they are toasty warm, with this one unless someone resets it your footwear is cold in the morning. 4Everybody should have oneI should have bought one of these a long time ago. Worth its weight in gold. I have issues with my feet sweating in the winter months and as a result would get athletes foot and would have to use spray every day to try and keep it from getting too bad. I would leave my boots on the heater vent all night and my furnace fan is constantly circulating the air. I have also tried different boots, different sock combinations. Socks that cost $20 a pair, along with sock liners in various combinations. This dryer seems to be the missing link as I now have zero issues with athletes foot. And my socks aren't wet at the end of the second day of the work week. 5
