Customer Reviews

Great ValueI have a Pepper sport frame sunglasses as well, both great products at a fair price. The case that comes with this one is a bit annoying, though not low quality. It is annoying because there is a hole in the center and it just doesn't work as well as a normal case, you end up touching the lenses with your fingers to get them in the right spot.Regardless, excellent simple product. If you could care less about a known brand name, and simply don't want to pay for a name, but still want a nice product...here it is.FYI, you can view them in person at an REI...though they charge almost double what I found here on Amazon. 5Poor quality and warranty is a joke.I purchased these Peppers sunglasses awhile back, and from day one the left lense was loose. At that time the price I paid on Amazon was $24.74. Everytime I try to clean the lenses the left lense pops out, and it has become worse over time. On the packaging in bold print it claims to have a lifetime warranty. I called their toll free number today to see if they could help and was told, since it has been over a year, they would replace them if I ship them back and send them $25 for a replacement fee (more than I paid to begin with). Shame on me for not contacting the manufacturer sooner, but I guess their lifetime warranty is not really a lifetime warranty, it's a one year warranty. I told him I would not be sending them back, since the replacement cost under the so-called "warranty" is more than I paid originally. Very disappointed that this company does not live up to their claims, and I would not buy another pair of Peppers sunglasses in the future. 1Good the fist time, but defective the second. This is my second pair of these glasses. I liked the first pair a lot. They were very comfortable and have a quality feel to them. Unfortunately, I lost that pair so I ordered another. I received the package today and first noticed the case with the hole in the middle. It isn't a big deal, but I prefer the normal style case that came with my first pair. The big issue, was that there is a raised bump horizontally almost all the way across the left lens. I noticed this before I even put them on and you can actually feel a raised bump maybe 1/4" wide. There was no paperwork in the box to show proof of purchase (necessary for Pepper's warranty) and I'm not excited about having to pay return shipping on a brand new/defective product to have them replaced. Gave two stars because the first pair I had was great. Hopefully I can get the second pair replaced with some in good condition 2Arrived today, pros and consPros- Spring hinge is not too firm or flimsy.- Good construction, metal except for the plastic covers towards the end. You- Fits my largish head comfortably and sits nicely.- Lens quality seems very nice, but I haven't really had the chance to scratch test them.- Includes a hard case similar to what's pictured.Cons- The lifetime warranty is free replacement the first year, but there's a 20 dollar fee if you don't have proof of purchase or it's beyond a year. Check their website.Overall 5 stars: It's a great value, there's just a little bit of a gotcha on the lifetime warranty if you don't look closely. Great value with case and cloth included. 5Fair quality glasses at a fair price point.I really liked my first pair of Peppers sunglasses, the Cutthroat style. With care they lasted almost 5 years for me without a problem, and then they fell off my head and landed lens first on gravel. That was neglect on my part, but the glasses were really nice for the price point.Fast forward to last week, I ordered the Kona Aviators...here's the low down:Pros:- Very clear- Great polarization for crystal clear viewing...driving, fishing, or boating, these are a great pair of glasses for under $30- The lenses are a bit larger than other styles like this, but I found I really liked it because my entire viewing area is through the amber-tinted lenses. Smaller lenses would result in your peripheral vision being regular vision, and then normal field of view looking through the glasses. That's distracting to me...hence why I like these.Cons:- Right out of the package, I noticed the ear pieces (on the end of the arms) were loose. It kind of bugged me that a brand new pair of glasses had something loose on them. I think they would be better off if the ear piece was glued solidly on, and maybe had a rubberized texture to it. I'm not sure if anything can be done about this, but time will tell. There is definitely a market for sunglasses that are decent in optics, yet not as expensive as the top name brands. A real-glass option for these would be great as well...I'm not afraid of some glasses that would have a little weight to them and feel like they will last! 3The quality of ultra premium without the priceI love love love these. I've been a pretty faithful Peppers customer for 4 years now. Everyone once in a while I try a different brand but I'm always disappointed.I've owned these for a few months now and they have the typical high quality I've come to expect. Peppers are very scratch resistant compared to others in the same price range and really are at the same level of quality of very high end sunglasses. The frames are really solid. I have owned 200+ dollar sunglasses before and they're easily equivalent. The case I received is different from the one pictured but still good quality. Attached is one that was included with mine, black with red trim.http://www.amazon.com/Peppers-Sport-Sunglass-Case-Black/dp/B00J38LWP2/ref=sr_1_67?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1427586305&sr=1-67 5Perfect replacement for my $200 Maui Jim'sAfter breaking or losing several pairs of expensive Maui Jim sunglasses (which I loved), I figured it's time to look into some more affordable options. I really didn't think I'd find an affordable pair of shades that would even be close to the Maui Jim's. But I'm happy to report I was wrong. These shades are very close to being on par with a $200 pair. The lenses are exceptional. They fit great. They look cool. And the spring loaded hinges are more forgiving when I push them to the top of my head when I'm not wearing them. Let's face it what are you supposed to do when you go inside? I'm not going to carry around a hard case everywhere I go, so they get slid to the top of my head. That's what broke the last pair of Maui Jim's. But I really think theses sunglasses are going to last a long time. 5Better than High priced glasses you get at the Harley dealers.I had a pair of glasses I bought at the local Harley shop. They were great. I cant remember right now what the brand was but after I lost them i looked all over for a replacement, I paid over $100 for them. Of course the were so popular the manufacture quit making them. I read on a Harley blog about these Peppers. These are the best Glasses for the money I've ever bought. I have 3 pair of them. One for my motor home one for my truck and one for the car. For men these look good and work great. You can go spend a lot of money on some other sun glasses but you wont get any better than these. I love them. nuf said. 5Lenses internally delaminated after two and a half years. The good...These are lightweight yet fairly well manufactured sunglasses. The hinges are spring loaded. Both arms open up exactly equally for a good overall fit. You might have to tweak one or the other of the two nose pad arms. I also had to give the frame a very slight twist so that both opened arms would rest flat when the sunglasses were set on a table. In other words, almost perfect right out of the box. These sunglasses also come with a decent semi-hard shell padded carrying case which has a belt loop clip. The case isn't particularly fancy, yet it certainly serves its purpose of protecting these sunglasses when they aren't being worn. The bad...After two and a half years, the lenses have somewhat internally delaminated. The result is a noticeable ripple effect when looking through these sunglasses. At first I thought that it was my eyes. Taking off the sunglasses and putting them back on confirmed that it is the lenses. 2This is my third pairThrough no fault of the sunglasses themselves, this is my third pair. The lenses do scratch up if you're not careful so I haven't been THAT sad when I lose them. They fit well and are durable. I love the fact that the sides stretch out so they're comfortable when you're putting them on. I'll keep buying these as long as they keep making them. They're much better than any of the cheap sunglasses I can get locally. 5
