I was expecting that it would be as pictured when worn - stiff enough to stand up above my head, not much bigger than the circumference of the band. The picture shown is with hat laying flat, measuring 11" from front to back at the band. When laying the hat on it's top, the diameter of the hat is 13", compared to a 7" diameter at the band. So it is much larger and floppier than I thought and not at all what I expected (see picture). Not worth returning it because it is pretty inexpensive.2
