Great concept, not durableWe purchased these a year ago, halfway through the 2016-2017 winter. We bought two pairs of mittens and one pair of the gloves. We were so excited for mittens that didn't constantly fall off. For the most part our children's hands stayed warm and dry. However this week I noticed that on three of the six gloves/mittens we purchased the textured rubber on the hands and fingers was peeling off and one even had a hole in the seam that connects the thumb to the palm. We have never exposed the mittens to heat or anything that should have damaged the rubber. Just used them in the snow, an hour or two at a time, probably an average of two times a week.We are a large family and had hoped to get several years of winter, and hand me downs, out of these mittens. If they were more durable they would totally be worth the $20-ish price tag. But only getting one full year of use out of mittens that cost so much is disappointing and I don't think that we will be buying more in the future. 2poor quality, lining doesn't stay in place, long cuffs difficult to put onPoor quality for the price. The velcro closure is thin and will fold, lining on both gloves came off inside out when I pulled out the gloves after the 1st use and I couldn't get them back in place, so now my son can't slide his hand into the glove to the end. Expensive for something that's good for using onde. And although the ideia of a long insert thst will keep snow from coming into the sleeves sounds good, in practice it doesn't work: ths gloves are too thick to put them on 1st and them put on the coat and with the coat on it's difficult to pull the sleeves up far enough to strech the material over the arms. 2Kids Hands Get WetI purchased 4 pairs of these for my 3 1/2 year old twins. We went skiing to Aspen and the kids were out skiing only 4 hours a day. At Lunch time I had to switch both of the SnowStoppers to the others I bought because their hands were wet and freezing. Sorry to say but they did not kept my kids hands warm. 2Best mittens we found for our toddler!Great mittens for a toddler! We went through five pairs of other style mittens and then I came across these and decided to give them a shot. We had quite a bit of cold and snow in our area this winter and my son enjoys being outside. Getting the mittens on a two year old is a challenge in itself and can be what makes or breaks the entire experience of getting ready to go out into the elements. These mittens are fairly easy to get on and get with getting the thumb lined up in the correct spot. The long sleeves make it near impossible for these things to come off. Keeping the hands dry and warm they get an A+++. We have gone out after every storm to play in the snow and no matter how cold out it was we were outside for at least an hour, coming back in I was surprised every time at how warm and dry my sons hands were. They are worth the few extra dollars if you want to take your kids to play outside in cold snowy weather 5Not WaterproofWe bought these gloves trusting the claims that they were waterproof and the glowing reviews of others. Today, our daughter played in the snow for about 30 minutes making snowmen. When we came back inside, we found the gloves wet all the way to the inside! In the picture, you can clearly see where the fabric is dry along the middle of the thumb and wet all around. The other side of the glove was wet as well. Returning immediately. 1They seem warm enough and the fit is good, but after seeing themThey seem warm enough and the fit is good, but after seeing them, I don't like the concept. My kid is 5 and has been dressing himself for years. But these gloves are impossible to put on without help - even I wouldn't be able to put on an adult version by myself. The sleeves are supposed to go under a coat, but that's impossible to do with mittens on. If you put the mittens on first, then you can't get your coat zipped up.It's not the end of the world, but they can't be sent to school where the teacher doesn't have time to help every kid get dressed. 2Best mittens for kids for winter!I have gotten these for my son a few years in a row now for MN winters and we both love them! It requires he puts on the mittens first and then the coat, which means I am zipping up his coat for him, but the extra help he ends up needing is totally worth his arms being protected from the elements while out. We have used other mittens before and what inevitably happens is the coat sleeves ride up while my son is playing in a snowbank or sledding, and then snow gets on the expose wrists and arms which could lead to frost bite and reduces his fun. With these mittens this NEVER happens. The cuffs go midway to his elbow but my son is very tall for his age and so has long arms. The mitten material is very water resistant when playing in the snow. However, even on a warmer day when the snow was melting, he found a puddle to splash in while playing and the mittens got soaked because that is what happens when you immerse them in standing water, and even after playing outside for another 45 minutes his hands were toasty warm on a 35-40 degree day with soaked mittens. I cannot say enough great things about these mittens.I would recommend buying a size up, while my son is tall for his age, he is 5, and wears a size 6-7 in boys clothes, I bought the extra large sized mittens which say they will fit a 7-12 year old and they will not fit him after this season as they are snug right now. 5Great for keeping kids' hands coveredWaterproofing wears off fairly quickly but otherwise these are good mittens. No complaints from the toddler and they're basically impossible for a little kid to remove without adult help. This is a good thing when your two-year-old hates having anything on his hands and doesn't understand the concept of frostbite or winter in general. The only downside is that they're a challenge to get on over a long-sleeve shirt or under a coat. I recommend putting them on over the shirt, *then* putting the coat on, or you'll never get them on all the way. 4Best mittens EVER for toddlers! These are the best mittens EVER for toddlers! You have to put the mittens on before the jacket because the cuff extends pretty far up the arm. They cannot slip off and the child cannot easily remove them. They are perfect for playing in the snow for extended periods of time. They are heavy, but not bulky. The child is still able to make snowballs and grip objects. My child was wearing 2T when I purchased these mittens. I ordered size 1 to 3 years and they worked great. She now wears 3T and still has room to grow. I haven't had any issues with the waterproofness. If you are looking for a toddler mitten for outdoor play, these are the best! I don't use these mittens for dashing between the house and car because it's more of a production to put them on and take them off and you don't need something quite so warm. The cheap knit mittens work just fine for that purpose. 5Okay, but room for improvement. These are good but not as great as expected. Purchased for my almost two year old. They fit his hand well but it is hard to get his thumbs in one of his mittens. The inside thumb liner keeps separating from the mitten where I need to put a pencil in to put it back together. It is very difficult to get his thumbs in anyway without that happening each try. It is also quite difficult to get his hands in to begin with unless we have total cooperation. His arms need to be stiff in order to them on since the cuff is so big and we have to pull it up to his elbows, but that aspect also keeps them from coming off while he is playing. I love that snow does not get in and his hands stay dry. However, if we are outside more than 30 minutes, his hands still get cold and red. I will continue looking for a mitten that keeps him warmer, and is easier to put on but I would still recommend them as they do much better than others we've tried, but still not 5 star worthy in my opinion. 4
