Customer Reviews

Comfortable- but sheds like a sheepdogThese are indeed comfortable. I'd like something with a little less of a 'shoe' sole for house slippers, but the insole does indeed feel good; solid on my arches, but soft and comfortable. Here's the thing though, these slippers have made a mess of my carpet- little black bits of feather, or faux feather, or whatever it is- and now my wife's after me about vacuuming. So if you're looking for something comfortable, great! But if you need to keep your carpet clean; you might want to look elsewhere... I have no idea if this happens with other colors; I have black. 4Great comfort and support!!Bought these as a gift for my Father due to the fact his slippers were falling apart. Plus he needed something with support to walk around the house. After doing research I came across this brand and it was recommended by my Fathers doctor. I ordered the pair and they arrived promptly wit no problems. Since receiving them my Dad wears them everyday and always compliments on how comfortable they are. We even have ordered another pair in another color because he likes them so much.5Usually a fan, but the furry liner is giving me problems.I love the Spenco flip flops, I have had them for years, so recently I purchased these slippers and after only wearing them a few times, I have noticed the furry liner in one of the slippers is not glued down to the hard sole properly and therefore it tends to bunch up under my foot. I need to reach in to the slipper and try to flatten it all out to make the slipper wearable. If these slippers were economical I would not care all that much, but for the price, I felt like I needed to bring this to attention. 1Expensive, poor quality, but comfortable. These are incredibly expensive for slippers with good arch support. And they do have good and lasting arch support, but for the price, you would expect them to be better made. The stitching began to come apart a month after I purchased them. And by year one, they were almost unwearable. This was not with anything other than indoor wear, and only now and again, so I was hardly abusing them. But at the price, I could have bought several pairs of less expensive slippers and some quite fancy orthotic inserts to go in them. Given that they finally fell completely apart before the two year mark, I may go that route the next time. They were really quite comfortable, and I did enjoy them, but I think their price is not reflective of the quality one would expect. 3If You Want SupportMy initial impression after one day of use. Great support. I wear a size 10D and ordered a size 10M. A little snug but not much and I expect some stretching as time goes on. I bought them to wear around the house although they look like they could wear outside in clear weather. They appear to be genuine suede leather perforated for ventilation. I have used custom orthotics in past years for bone spur and these are very similar and what I wanted to give me the support I needed. They have removable support linings if one so desires. Wear with bare feet or thin socks. I guess if you took out the linings you could wear thicker socks but that would defeat the purpose in buying these. They have a thick heel and sole so are not quiet on wood floors. There are loops on the back to assist in pulling on and side stretch bands to make it easier. All in all a well designed and functional footwear. Soles are honeycombed for traction or noise dampening I suppose. Sheepskin like lining is very warm. Shoe has very fine stitching which hopefully will stand the test of time. 4The Sorel's seem to have much more "padding' on the bottom and are more comfortable (for me)I bought these for the built in support. I was wearing Sorel's Falcon Ridge slipper. The Sorel's seem to have much more "padding' on the bottom and are more comfortable (for me). The Sorel's are also probably a little warmer than the Spencos -- good or bad depending on what you want & where you live. Ultimately, I added a good brand of orthotic supports to the Sorels after having problems with plantar fasciistis on one foot. Perhaps the Sorel's would have provided support equal to my new Spencos if I had used orthotic supports from the beginning. i do like the new Spencos. Also I can wear a pair of thin to medium socks with the Spencos but not with the Sorel's -- important as neither brand offers half sizes. Like some other reviewers, I have noticed some "shedding of the inside insulation on the Spencos -- e.g., whitish fuzz on our rugs from my (rarely) bare feet on the rug. I am retired and having a pair of comfortable slippers I can wear all day without discomfort or harm to my feet is as important as good support in my shoes worn outdoors. The photo on Amazon's 'review" page is of a different (low or no back) model.4I was very excited to find such a great house slipper and initially had no problem with the ...I was very excited to find such a great house slipper and initially had no problem with the price (you get what you pay for). However, I have had these slippers for 21 days, now, and the left one has come un-sewn at the top elastic expander. I only wear them inside the house and usually only in the morning/evening. Now, the slipper will not stay on my foot. For almost $100.00 for a pair of house slippers, I expect better quality. Don't get me wrong; they are comfortable as heck! Very comfortable. Maybe I just got the one bad pair, but I cannot recommend them. I wanted quality. I thought I paid for quality. Oh well:( 1Worth the money!!I've written several times in reviews that the 2 things you never "skimp" on is SHOES and sunglasses. Your feet and eyes deserve and need the best quality of products! The feet are so important to the entire body. After several years of convincing my husband of this fact, I've finally gotten him to spend the bucks for pure quality, which is exactly what these slippers are. They are much more than a slipper though, the sole is very strong and durable. He wears them outside to get the trash, the mail, etc. They are so attractive. They hardly look like a "slipper". He has worn them everyday since we've received them. We have hardwood floors throughout the home, so walking/standing without shoes really bothers his back. So now, instead of keeping his shoes on til bedtime, he puts these on the minute he walks in the door. He said the arch support is amazing and they are so comfortable. They have a lining of a soft like fur, which the first few days he wore them, would be on his socks/feet after wearing them. But that is subsiding the more he wears them. He said it's worth the little extra fuzz anyway! Lol.They are wonderfully comfortable, extremely attractive, and WELL worth the money!! 5Fell apart in 3 weeks... :(We wanted to love this product! I've spent hours online shopping for a durable, comfortable men's slippers with arch support for my boyfriend. These seemed like the perfect pair and he loved the look and feel of them instantly! Finally, a success I thought! These just arrived 3 short weeks ago, and while he wears them every moment he's home, they are already falling apart!? The fur started ripping out of the inside seams last week! I couldn't believe it! I called Spenco who of course said the return had to be made with Amazon. I hate that Amazon doesn't exchange products... I bought these when they were on sale for $60. Now they are back up to $80. So my time, trouble, plus paying $20 more to replace the bad product. Grrr! 1Falling apart after a week.I've wore these for about a week and they lining is already falling out and pulling up. These are junk.2Great for someone wanting a very warm, comfortable slipperI purchased these slippers to wear around the house after I learned I had a significant over-pronation when I walk/run that was causing tendinitis in my ankle. I bought multiple different inserts for other shoes, as will as foot "wraps" that place gel support under the arch. I've been experimenting with all for several weeks now, and while this slippers are extremely comfortable overall, I've found them to have the least amount of arch support of the things I've experimented with (much to my surprise, given the number of reviews touting the arch support, or even complaining about too much arch support). Still, they are much better than walking barefoot for me, so I do still wear them. Also, for me they are just too warm for extended wear. I'm not deducting stars for this because for some people, that's a great thing. But for me, after about 15 minutes, I want to take them off and get my feet some air! 4Why such weak stitching in these otherwise nice slippers?Very comfortable but the stitching split right up the top middle after a few months with moderate use. Especially strange since the slippers are a bit large on me (I usually wear a 10 and a half shoe and these size 10 slippers are a bit too big). Has anyone had any luck getting the manufacturer to replace the split slippers? 2My plantar fasciitis thanks you SpencoThese slippers have been amazing.I have numerous issues with my lower extremities. Suraz neuropathy, Achilles tendinitis, and plantar fasciitis - just to name a few. My podiatrist advised me to no longer walk barefoot so I began to look for a house shoe. In my normal, outside-the-house shoe I have custom orthotics to help alleviate the pain. The first slipper (a different brand) I tried was too thin and just wasn t comfortable. It felt like I was still walking barefoot but with a little more grip.I then took a chance on the more expensive Spence shoes and am extremely pleased. I have now owned them for over two years and I wear them immediately when I get home. We don t wear outside shoes in the house so I don t waste any time transitioning into them. I even make sure to pack these with me when doing on any trips.I even took them with me on my last deployment in 2018. The removable sole is very comfortable and they do a decent job of supporting my high arches. The soles have pretty good traction and I do not slip on any of my hardwood or tiled areas.I will wear these shoes until they fall apart and then I ll just turn right around to buy this pair again. One thing about these shoes in the summer is that they can get a little warm. 5
