The Friendly Swede...a cut above for quality,price,and customer service!!!I could not believe these fit my 7 3/4 melon with a tad room to spare and adjust easily with a hidden on the inside bungee cord that comes out the back of the hat with a locking toggle. Hard to believe a hat that will fit my extra large head will also fit my wife much much smaller head and look almost the same on her like it was made for her. I just LOVE "The Friendly Swede" and the fine quality items that they offer and stand behind. On the RARE occasion you need to contact their customer service, you will be AMAZED at how nice and accommodating that they are...a breath of fresh air and how customers SHOULD be treated by rarely are these day!!! You owe it to yourself to check out all of the items they offers and if you see something that catches you eye...you will not be disappointed!!! 5Really good buy!I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of these hats. Several years ago I paid about $50 for a canoe hat. I bought that hat because it floats and was great for any type of lake activity as well as soccer games, gardening or whatever. It has vents. My point is....these hats are EXACTLY like the hat I bought all those years ago, except that these are very inexpensive! 5 of our family are taking a canoe trip to the BWCA and I'm putting together gift bags for the trip. I thought I'd try these to see if there was any hope. They are actually nicer than my canoe hat! These have snaps you can snap the side up if you want to and more ventilation, plus they fit the head better and the brim is slightly wider. I'll be ordering another set of these for sure. I'll be a little jealous that everyone else will get these hats while I'll have my expensive canoe hat. As far as fit - they will fit a wide variety because you can adjust the fit a bit. My husband has a big head and they fit him. I have a small head and they fit me. So there is definitely some flexibility in the sizing. I purchased size large and plan to do the same with the next order because 2 of the guys have bigger heads and the girl has long hair. Incidentally, all of the items I've purchased from The Friendly Swede have exceeded my expectations. 5Cannot Beat This Value!These will be perfect for hiking or any other outdoor activities in the sun. They are lightweight, fit even my big head easily, and love the adjustability to cinch down once my ego deflates (or for smaller-headed people). The large amount of venting will be great to help keep cool, and the all polypropylene construction will dry quickly and be easy to wash. The label says 100% polypropylene, so I'm not sure why the listing says there's a cotton panel inside to absorb perspiration? Cotton wouldn't be an ideal material to absorb sweat, anyway - unless you wanted it to still keep you wet, not dry, and hold odors. The chin strap is a welcome touch, sometimes gets windy up in the mountains. The hat folds easily and will pack to a very compact size, great for traveling. I guess that could be looked at as the one downside (other than lack of color choices) - since it does fold so easily, it doesn't hold a shape like a more firm hat would - but then a study hat wouldn't be easily packable. So you pick your poison. For the price, you get two hats for half the price (or less), compared to similar hats elsewhere. So no complaints! 5One flaw in an otherwise great product and companyThe hat is great. It's light weight, fits larger sized heads, and seems to be well made. However, the Friendly Swede ships the hats folded up in the packaging. This leaves a sharp crease in the brim that makes the hat look silly to wear in public.The Friendly Swede was very responsive to my questions about how to take the crease out. They suggested washing the hats and letting them dry flat. Unfortunately, the crease is smaller but still visible. One is not that bad but the other one has fatigue in the fabric from the bend that no amount of washing will make go away.If they every fix the method of shipping, the hat would get 5 stars. 2Great basic hats!!Bought 2 sets of these hats for using at Disney. I like them because they are collapsible for throwing in a backpack. They adjust so they fit all of us..my husbands just fit but we usually have to get customHats for him and he said it s not too tight but it borderline. (His favorite hat is 50 bucks so I didn t want him to take that one to disney). I like that they have chin straps so they won t blow away in wind. The brim is good and willProtect our faces from the sun. And they were very affordable so if they get lost or damaged I won t be overly concerned.Mine were packaged flat so I don t have any creases in my hats as mentioned in another review. I am happy with my purchase and think they will work really well for us.Of course keep in mind you get what you pay for. We have hats from the hat shop in Charleston that are really good quality..these are obviously not as good material wise but are a 1/4 the price and sometimes you don t want to spend a ton on a hat!! I'm outdoors daily in Southern California where the Sun is usually always out. I do not like hats. As an average sized male, 5'8", 155# I seem to not have the cranium for most hats... Even going into kids sizes, lol. The last 10 years I have worn exactly 0 hats. This hat seems to work out! Not only can I tighten it around my noggin I can also tighten it around my neck so I don't lose it while working extra hard hehe. An added feature is that I can snap either or both flaps onto the cap which helps since I would knock the hat off, if I couldn't do that, with my equipment. I also dig the mesh trim to keep my dome cool! 4We need more!I bought these hats when I read in another review that a woman and her toddler son were able to wear them. I got the green ones and my daughter and I look super cute in them like Troop Beverly Hills cute. It was then that my husband came home and decided to take mine to work with him as he was going to be outside a lot that day. So now I'm considering ordering two more just so everyone has one. This is the gray color. 5Useful and wonderful for small to medium and somewhat large heads at beachWhat a great purchase!My kids have much too large of heads for actual kid hats, yet I didn t want to spend the higher amount of money to buy OR hats like mine or the cheaper generic Boonie hats without The same features as the friendly Swede hats.I liked that it was a 2 pack, the tan color was neutral for my kids. On a week long vacation to Sunny, humid, windy Florida my 3, 6, 8, and 10 YR OLDS all wore these hats at some point. They were easily adjusted by cinching up hat band.These hats did not fit my husband who is size xxl 7 7/8 hat size, but they did fit me with a huge pony tail or top knot.They dried quickly and didn t stain with sunscreen, ocean water, sand, sweat. I didn t do this, but assume washing them in sink with mild soap would easily clean them.The only negative I can think of is the chin strap toggle. Either the strap itself is too thin/lightweight or the toggle is too light, because toggle easily is stuck at bottom and too hard for kid to pull up to adjust. My OR hat of same style really isn t as hard to adjust. Adding a knot or maybe a paper clip or something to give a grip on strap to pull up toggle works (we tried both because we randomly had a paperclip in the pool bag) 5These hats were perfect for me and my teenThese hats were perfect for me and my teen. We've worn them all summer in our hiking and camping trips and these were a great buy! 5
