Customer Reviews

Don't waste your money - they fall apart after the 1st use. I Wish I could give a zero review. These came and looked very nice, fit fine and appeared to be of good quality. 1st time I stepped into the water on vacation the inside liner/insert of the shoe began to slide around as the glue that held it in place apparently is not water proof and the whole time I tried to wear them on vacation the continued moving around making the shoe very unstable. In addition a weird piece of material that looked like paper began to fall off the soles of the shoes. There apparently is some sort of material placed over the rubber sole and I am not sure what purpose it served but it shredded away. Keep in mind this shoe was used solely on a sand beach and should never have fallen apart like this as this is what it is intended for and the use it got was very light. I would not recommend this shoe and I will not be wearing them again. Piece of junk made out of China. 1I wear mine all day every dayI have multiple pairs of a variety of styles of "Water Shoes". Except for my morning walk (2-3 miles), and formal occasions, I wear them virtually all my waking hours. Because of the total loss of feeling in my feet, and several instances of cuts to them discovered only when I noticed a trail of blood I was leaving, I needed an easy protective measure. These were my solution. And the Wave Water Shoes have become my preferred shoe.As easy to don as slippers, but with the locking draw-string, MUCH more secure. I put a pair out for the next day's use before I go to bed. Slip them on when I get up, and remove them for my walk, showering and dressing, and then wear them the rest of the day. Because of their design, I could even wear them to shower if it wasn't already slip resistant. With a daily rotation, find that I get something over a year's wear out of a pair. The soles are a gummy, soft rubber, and wear fairly quickly. I find them suitable for running errands and light work both inside and out. They do not offer any arch support, and may not fit properly if such support were used to replace the inner, sole liner. I have successfully replaced that liner with flat foam cushions sold in drug and discount stores.I have also worn these for there primary use in the murky water along the shores of Arizona's reservoir lakes. I have not had a foot injury while wearing these (or any other similar) shoes. They will NOT protect against a long fixed nail or shard. But will deflect most objects. I highly recommend these. They are the only style I have reordered. The locking drawstring is the key. They stay on comfortably, and can be adjusted to fit the occasional day of swollen feet. And inexpensive safety solution. 5Not worth it, tread wears out VERY quickly.Shoes had a number of issues. First of all they were a bit long for the size, and left a 'floppy' bit at the end of the shoe.Secondly, the inner soles that were glued on came out the VERY FIRST time I wore these, and couldn't be reattached, so I had to go without them.Third, the tightening plastic nut on these has nothing holding it onto the laces. And it's very weak, first time doing water aerobics one of them flew off.Fourth, the fabric on these shoes seems designed to retain the water, and the soles have no drainage holes. So they hold onto the water WAAY too well and are really hard to dry out.But the biggest issue is that I only bought these on Dec 26th. I do water aerobics 2-4 times a week. By mid-February the tread had worn completely off of the shoes, and as of today (Feb 24th) the tread actually wore completely down and my toe can now go through the bottom of the shoe. 1Boy Scout tested. My 15yo boy scout needed these for 7 day camp up at a lake where water sports and Kayaking merit badges would be worked on. While other boys were shifting and slipping in flip flops, or in bare feet wincing as they walked across jagged terrain, my son was sure-footed and protected in these. Before camp he complained that he'd look dumb wearing them. When he came home from camp, he thanked me over and over again for getting them for him. He used them every day. The outsides are still entact. However the inner sole is not adhered adequately. Manufacturer uses a few dabs of stretchy rubber cement. The soles wrinkle, and twist within the shoe. He had to keep adjusting those. And THAT was very annoying. After they dry out I'm going to re-attach the soles with shoe-goo, or another industrial strength epoxy, and hope they can get more mileage out of them at future scout camps. 4Keep lookingLoved these for about an hour and then they started to fall apart. The padding on the inside started to bunch up it looked the the glue holding them in place didn't work at all. Also the bottom sole of the shoe started to wear almost instantly. I was only swimming in a hotel pool for a few hours- not strenuous activity at all. Bought these with the intent of bringing them on a trip to Mexico, but instead I'm returning them for hopefully something of better quality. 1DisappointedThese shoes fit great and did a great job with draining any water but the insoles in the shoes were VERY poorly attached. The insoles became detached from the inside of the shoe almost as soon as I stepped in the water. It's like they used a water soluble glue!As you can imagine, it's fairly uncomfortable to have a wet insole jammed up to one side of your shoe when you're trying to walk. I attempted to see if I could just remove the insoles and go without, but the glue residue was everywhere and the shoes were rough and uncomfortable. I ended up having to take them off repeatedly to place the insoles back into the proper positions in the shoe.I would highly recommend passing on these and looking for a water shoe with a sewn-in insole. 1Wave mens shoes were durable and fit wellWe bought the Wave Mens Aqua shoes for a trip to Mexico. They fit just as expected. They were very comfortable throughout the day. No blisters or cuts from the shoes. They protected my husband's feet while letting him go into the water at the same time. The toggle on the back was a great feature if he decided to change how tight the shoes fit him.I would highly recommend the wave shoes if you are looking for a water shoe. 5Just RightThese are very nice shoes for walking in the river. They fit snugly and comfortably even with my wide feet. They do not collect rocks and sand on the inside, which is very nice. The mesh does not catch on my toe nails, which is very nice also. They provide good grip on slippery mud. All in all, very nice and comfortable river shoes. Just right. 5Uncomfortable!!!!I was happy with the price and quick delivery. However, the insoles of the shoes became unglued within the first 5 minutes of being in the water (no exaggeration) and so they were extremely uncomfortable for the rest of the day. I bought these for a rafting trip, and by the end of the trip I took them off and threw them away. It was more comfortable to walk on the gravel path back to our car than it was to keep the shoes on. All in all, very disappointing. I'm thankful that I only needed them for 4 hours instead of an entire day/weekend.The majority of the negative reviews I saw on Amazon related to this specific issue, so that's where your company needs to focus attention. That, or further discount the shoes since they are basically only good for one time.I contacted the company to let them know of the insole problem, this is the only response I received:hi i am so sorry about this i will look into this i havent heard of any other problem thank you for contacting me steve 1These aqua shoes fit perfectly - I particularly liked the drawstring at the back to keep it snugThese aqua shoes fit perfectly - I particularly liked the drawstring at the back to keep it snug. The day they arrived, I proudly slipped them onto my summer pool-ready feet and cinched the string tight. I walked about a block to the neighborhood pool over the smooth sidewalks of my suburban subdivision. As I settled onto the beach chair, I crossed my leg and looked at what was 10 minutes ago a nicely studded sole . . . to see that the short walk over concrete had sanded the tread almost flat on the heels and left the rest of the bottom scuffed and torn. The second day I wore them was to walk through a stone-lined forest creek on a backpacking trip. By the end of the wet crossing, the mesh in the toe had started to pull away from the sole and the insole lining pulled out when I took off the shoe to examine the hole in the toe area. I tried to smooth the insole back in, but it stayed crinkled up under my toes. The third day I wore them was to go fishing in a smooth, flat-bottomed jon boat. Having now worn them two times, the big toes on both feet were sticking through the mesh. It wasn't ripped, they just pulled away from the sole leaving a hole in both fronts. Lucky for me, I always carry duct tape with me! I encased the toes of both shoes fully in duct tape which also mitigated the shredding effect of walking on a sidewalk.I recommend if you buy these shoes, go ahead and pick out a matching color of duct tape so you can extend their life longer than the three days it took for them to fall apart on me. 2
