Customer Reviews

An excellent solition for a comun problem THUMBS UP!!!!!!,!An excellent solition for a comun problem. I orderda Giro Apeckx road bike shoes by mistake to use them in my Spinning classes. After that i found that the pedals they have at the gym are SHIMANO SPD that use MTB cleats i checked some of the possible solutions and found this one with all in it for one single price. Solved my problem fitted perfectly and all needed is included also the mtb cleat is part of the adapter itslef what could be better THUMBS UP FOR THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!! 5Amazing!Works perfect!!!! I was worried I d have to buy new shoes to fit the 2 hole cleats. This was a life saver. I ve recently started teaching spin classes and these have worked perfect. They stay clipped in and come right out with a simple twist. I m also able to adjust where the cleats sit on the shoe which make the spin more enjoyable. 5These are perfect. They do exactly as they sayThese are perfect. They do exactly as they say. They convert your LOOK shoes into an SPD compatible shoe. I've got hybrid platform/SPD pedals on my bike. I like to commute to work which is just across the street and when I do, I prefer to wear my normal shoes on the platform side of the pedals. But also like having the option for the clip in when I am actually riding. These adapters convert my road shoe to be compatible with these mountain bike pedals. They are amazing quality. They are fully constructed of metal (aluminum I am guessing) and look to be very durable. The packaging comes with all the screws you would need.5 Stars. Solves my problem without out creating additional problems. Great quality. No Complaints. 5Initial Impressions - Positive! The cleats look well build, feel solid. All hardware is included with multiple screw lengths for different shoes (how much more thread can one show hide? I doubt any but the shortest bolt will be used). The bolted on to my brand new Fizik shoes without issue. First snap in on bike took a few minutes. Because this adapter builds additional height on the sole, it is harder to feel where the cleat nose is (as you press down into engagement). But after a few clip ins and out I got better at it. A slight learning curve is normal and expected. Once engaged the cleats feel exactly like my previous shoes, similar float (set up in my pedals, so I know the shoe is solid and not moving).Walking on concrete driveway on cleats is probably not a good idea, and they stick out so far my shoe's "walking around sole stations" offer no benefit. C'est la vie for road shoes I guess.Overall though, I think these are far better option than 2-piece adapters or changing pedals.I'll put some miles on them this weekend, hopefully! 4Almost GoodI bought these cleats for Eggbeater Pedals, b/c they were supposed to be easier to clip in & out of, making them more useful for commuting. The Eggbeaters were not easier to use, & having to use these adapters & SPD cleats made the stack height on the bottom of my road shoes INSANE.I bought clipless road pedals, the cleats have a low stack & are super easy to clip in/out of. If beginners are looking to use these because you heard they were easier, they're not invest in proper road pedals first & avoid the added expense. 1Good quality, very useful, no instructions includedI have hybrid platform/SPD-compatible pedals on my bike so I can use it for commuting/errands with street shoes, and also riding for exercise with cycling shoes. I won some really nice road cycling shoes, and wanted to use them with my current pedal system instead of my old, heavy MTB shoes, so I got these adapters. The quality is good - they are solid and sturdy - but they did not come with any sort of packaging or instructions. They did come with multiple screws of various lengths, so I just used the ones that seemed most appropriate and it worked. But there were varying numbers of the other length screws, so I'm not really sure how you would use them. I assume they are for different types of shoes, but without instructions, who knows? There was also a little rectangular brass piece with two holes drilled in it that fits over the center of the cleat, but its function was unclear. I left it off in the interest of weight (it's not on in the photo of this product, either). You can attach these adapter cleats to a two-hole shoe, though why you would want to instead of getting regular SPD cleats, I don't know. But you can. The cleats did hit farther back on the ball of my foot than I was used to, as some other reviewers noted, even when I put them all the way forward on my shoe, but it didn't seem to be a problem once I was underway. I did not have to adjust my seat height. They were also a lot trickier to clip onto the pedals, and slightly more difficult to unclip, but I chalk that up to me just needing to get accustomed to them and the tension adjustment on the pedal. By the end of the first ride I was getting better at clipping in.I'm very pleased with the quality of these cleats and they were exactly what I needed, for a good price. However, I wish that they had come with some instructions, just so I could know I put them on right. 4Slight differences in cleat profile make it difficult with Shimano SPD mountain pedalI used these to convert some high end three-hole shoes to Shimano Deore mountain pedals. The profile of the cleat is a little different than standard SPD. They work, but it is a lot more difficult to get in and out of the pedal. I adjusted the pedals to almost the loosest setting. They do clip in, but after struggling with these for about 8 months, I'm ready to give up. They are probably OK for spin classes, when you have time to clip in and out, but absolutely a no-go for mountain; and still a bit of a pain for even road bike because of poor fit compared to the standard SPD clip. I'm going to try the Shimano three hole to SPD plastic adapter plate which I thought looked flimsy. Perhaps these would work better with Wellgo 'SPD' pedals? 2perfect adapteri wanted to use an older pair of high-end road shoes and convert them into spinning class shoes, which require the SPD cleat. i tried the Shimano "adapter" which isn't an adapter what-so-ever, but this does the job perfectly of taking a 3-hole shoes into a SPD cleat. the real BONUS is the SPD cleat is molded into the adapter, so you dont have to pay Shimano another $25 for the SPD cleat. good stuff 5Great Cleats (Shop Tech Approved)First I would like to say that I am very impressed with this product. I have worked in a bike shop for the past couple years as a technician and I can say that this is a great item. For the people saying that the cleats "loosened or got stuck in the pedals" I have no idea what they could possibly be doing wrong." My guess is that they were not installed properly. A correct install for cleats on a shoe, from the years I have done it, would be to put one drop of blue loctite on each cleat screw and make sure you are torquing to the proper specifications. In this case the manual clearly states 5nm for each screw and with loctite they should not be loosing unless the seal is broken with hand tools.I have these on a pair of carbon soled shoes so no issues with the sole so far. I have also tried clipping into 3 different major style spd pedals. The traditional spin class ones which have one sided entry, some double sided shimano ones, and even some wellgo pedals. I have had no problems with any of them. 5Doesn t work. Cannot clip in.Was able to mount them on the shoes just fine but there is something with the design of the spd cleat itself that prevents them from working. Simply put, I could only get clipped in once, and when I did it was a heroic effort to unclip, so much so I nearly fell over. I tried them with four pedals, two shimano M series and one A series, and they don t clip in. I have a pair of wellgo pedals that are platform on one side and spd on the other - they work in those. So, unless you have wellgo pedals, don t buy. They just don t work. 1
