Customer Reviews

Soft, warm, cozy, high quality and made to last!Faced with the prospect of buying a new sleep sack for my little one who had just outgrown his first one, I was frustrated with the cost of cheaply made polyester fleece garments that will be outgrown in a matter of months. $100 may seem like a lot up front, but this beautiful sleep sack is worth every penny! I love that he will not only fit into it for a couple of years, but based on the quality it seems up to the challenge of lasting through a second child. It's so rare to find baby garments that are truly made to last these days. I love natural wool, and I was thrilled to find a sleep sack that is 100% Merino because of its many amazing qualities (regulates heat, antimicrobial, natural!) and is machine washable. The outer fabric is an incredibly soft brushed cotton. The whole thing is substantial without being bulky and despite its large size, which gives plenty of room to grow, it fits my 6mo old so well (he's on the small side). It seems like every detail was well thought out. Clearly designed by a parent. :) Thank you Woolino! Thanks to this magical sleep sack (and weeks of hard work, lol) my little one had 12 beautiful hours of restful sleep last night. 5Perfectly warm enough for Pacific NWI was prompted to write this after reading a review that said this is not warm enough for the Pacific NW. That is completely wrong, in my opinion.I live in the Pacific NW and my baby sleeps in this every night. In warmer months she has this on over a light long sleeve onesie, and now that it s cold she wears footed pajamas underneath.I have always been extra paranoid about making sure she isn t too hot or cold and this does a great job regulating her body temperature.Babies under 3 or 4 months old should probably be in a tight swaddle instead of a sleep sack like this anyway. 5Cost Effective--It really does save you moneyI admit I was initially turned off by the high price of this sleep sack. But, I now understand that it will save you a bunch of money in just the first year. For my first kid, I bought less expensive sleep sacks, but need to size up every few months, going from small all the way up to X-Large by 18 months. For several sizes, I bought different weights, or multiple lightweight ones that I could layer. On at least two, the zippers malfunctioned after a bit of use. I easily spent $200 altogether. For my 2nd kid, I needed to replace a few that had a bad zipper, and also realized that I had the wrong weight for some of the sizes -- since one was a fall baby and one was a spring baby, they hit opposite seasons when they were in a given size. I bit the bullet and just bought Woolino.Man, I wish I had bought Woolino to start! The sleep sack is great. Beautiful construction, and clearly high quality. I've used it since little one was 3 months old, and she's now 18 months. We use it nearly every single night, and wash it once a week, and it's still in beautiful condition. I don't bother with different weight sacks--I just dress her slightly more or less warmly in her PJs depending on the season, but otherwise the sack is the perfect middle weight--not too light, not too heavy. 5Comparing the Woolino to Merino KidsI purchased this as well as the merino kids 0-2 sleep sack. Here are the differences that I could tell. The zipper: The zipper is a two way on the woolino and very easy to use. When your baby is being a little fussy at bedtime, it's super easy and fast to get them in. The Merino kids is a one way zipper that takes time to get it started. Sometimes it's a tad challenging to get it into place and a crying baby does not help the situation. This is a big downside to the merino kids bag.Shoulder snaps: Woolino has snaps on both shoulders. This makes it very easy to transfer a sleeping baby into the bag. It's also much easier to take off in the morning. Merino kids has snaps on one shoulder and trying to put a sleeping baby into the bag, is not easy without waking the child.Arm hole snaps: They both have arm hole snaps to make them smaller. I would say the arm hole is a tag bigger on the woolino and better for bigger kids. But they both provide snaps to make the holes smaller.Fabric: The woolino is a tad thicker and according the descriptions, a tad warmer than the merino kids. The woolino is also very soft and much softer than the merino kids bag.The Woolino is a tag longer in length than the merino kids, but the Merino Kids bag is a tad wider. Wider might be better for bigger kids.Overall, the woolino is easier to use than the merino kids. I also own the Merino Kids winter weight bag and it is a better option for cold climates or rooms. The woolino 4 seasons is not warm enough for a colder room, but it's a great option for 3 seasons or houses that are heated above 65 in the winter. 5Not warm enough for Pacific NW weatherI really wanted to like this sleeping sack but so far have been disappointed. The main reason is that it lacks sleeves and is not warm enough even for the Pacific NW fall weather. It's September. It is getting cold but not winter-like yet, and the room temperature is above 60 degrees. I put my two-month old in long sleeved pajamas, a Woolino sleeping gown with arms, which are also recommended by Woolino's "what to wear" card that came with the sleeping sack. And, I added a pair of fleece arms to the Woolino sleeping sack. But my baby's arms and hands are still freezing at night. She fidgets until I put another blanket over her (and tuck it under), which I know is not the safest thing to do. Maybe when the baby is a bit older, and can generate more heat and regulate her own body temperature better, this sleeping bag will be more suitable. But for now, I'll search for something else that can keep her warm at night. 3I'm torn...So I bought this sleep sack under the premise that it would fit my baby until 24 months. That definitely made it worth the price. And when it arrived, I fell in love with the quality. Now, I know every baby is different, but I am deeply disappointed in the fact that, as I sit here nursing my 10 month old, she only has 3 inches left until the length no longer fits her, and that's a generous estimate. She's not even a year and she's been rapidly outgrowing this sack, which has been washed carefully and always according to directions. 4it didn't seem warm enough or how would he be cool enough. In any caseI'm going to be VERY honest.... when I first received the sleep sack I was getting ready to return it. Honestly It didn't look or feel worth the price. It seemed small, it didn't seem warm enough or how would he be cool enough. In any case... I decided to try it on the baby (he's six months) and the second I put it over him he hugged it and squeezed and that's what sold me. He's also been having some of the best night sleeps in it. He's usually a good sleeper and normally I put him down and let him fall a sleep on his own. There are time if he's not quite ready to fall as a sleep that he fusses a little. In this sleep sack he must be so comfortable so at peace that he's no fuss. And every time I'm putting it on at night he hugs and closes his eyes, just the cutest thing you've ever seen. So I love it... because he loves it. I've been thinking of purchasing a second one so we can alternate. I'm very happy with the purchase and now it seems priceless....I would also like to note, that I had to wash it twice in one week because basically he was in between diaper sizes and the size 3 diapers just weren't holding him over night before so I had to wash it because there were two morning that he was very wet. And the Sleep Sack still looks like I just pulled out the box. I'm beyond happy. 5This sleeping bag is a must have.Don't let any other gimmicky sleepers fool you. After deciding to forego the swaddle, I bought some transition sleepers to slowly transition my daughter out of the swaddle, and it was a disaster. With the nested bean transition swaddle, she woke up freezing. Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit didn't allow for any movement and her hands would be icicles when she woke. The Halo Sleepsack swaddle was made of fleece and she woke up covered in sweat. My plan of transitioning from the swaddle was not going well. I did quite a bit of research and my 2 finalists were the Woolino and the Little Lotus sleep sack. I liked the little lotus swaddle because my daughter couldn't escape from it, but I hated the velcro. It was scratchy and would catch on things in the wash. So I decided to take a chance on the Woolino Baby Sleeping Bag. I love it!! It's wool so it doesn't need to be washed often, It has snaps instead of velcro and my daughter slept a full night the first night she was in this. She looked like a sleeping angel and now when I put her in this, she knows it's sleep time and falls right asleep. This sleeping bag saved my sanity and gave me more sleep. Get it! 5BUY IT!Great investment! I made the mistake of buying a Halo Sleepsack but my son quickly outgrew it before he even came close to the max age range. By the time I added up what I would spend continuing to buy different size sacks throughout the next couple years, it was a no-brainer: BUY THE WOOLINO! Besides the savings in the long run, the Woolino is much better quality than any other sleep sack I've seen! The wool keeps him at a perfect temp and will continue to do so year-round. The snaps and zipper are also much easier to sneak a sleeping babe into...as opposed to those ones with the insanely loud velcro!!! I also love that wool is naturally anti-microbial...just added peace of mind when it comes to being a first-time Mommy! The slot for the car seat belt is also a huge positive for this awesome piece of essential baby gear!Note to potential buyers: Make sure to purchase the appropriate wool detergent. 5it will help keep her comfortable temperature wise through the nightI ve had a lot of experience with sleep sacks. My two year old slept in them until recently and I grew tired of worrying if he was too hot/cold. I found this one just as he was finally willing to sleep with a blanket, but quickly had the same worries about warmth/coolness with my daughter. I decided to order two for her with the hopes they will be the only ones I have to purchase until she is sleeping with a blanket. They re okay. They don t seem to be working any miracles for her sleep as some claim, but she has always been a decent sleeper in her own right. I don t prefer the snaps at the top of each strap, as I find that makes it more difficult to get her in and out. I am used to sleep sacks that zip down the middle, but this one zips on the side - also not something I prefer. You are supposed to use a special wool safe detergent and it took about two days to thoroughly air dry. Hopefully, it will help keep her comfortable temperature wise through the night. If so, that will make it worth the purchase!Pros:- Temperature regulation for baby- Nursery thermometer with dressing guide included- Supposed to fit up to 24 months, decreasing the amount of sleep sacks you have to buy- Appropriate for all seasons, also decreasing the amount of sacks you have to buy- Soft, high quality material- Do not have to wash as often due to anti microbial properties of the fabricCons:- Expensive. Even though you may not have to buy as many sleep sacks, the estimated cost was about the same for two of these vs purchasing multiple ones through the years- Have to use a special detergent- Slow drying time- Difficult to get baby in and out. Because the zipper is on the side, you have to unbutton the straps at the top each time which makes me cringe when trying to minimize disturbances when laying down a tired babyOverall, I do like it and am glad I purchased it. Hopefully, I ll have a better feel for it after using it for a while. 4
